'01LS1 Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 Stopped by a GMC dealer yesterday & the new? Graphite Blue color really looks great on the '13's. Went to their website & it is not listed in their color guide. So did a search & found the heading below. Was hoping they were going to carry it over to the '14's. Maybe it is just a supply issue? 2013 Chevrolet Silveardo/GMC Sierra 1500 Series Regular Cab 8-10 (A) Blue Ray Metallic/Graphite Blue Metallic Editions (PCY) have been cancelled and will not be available to order 2013 Chevrolet Silveardo/GMC Sierra 1500 Series Extended and Crew Cab 8-10 (A) Blue Ray Metallic/Graphite Blue Metallic Editions (PCY) have been cancelled and will not be available to order
brainpause Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 Stuff like that sometimes makes me wonder if it is a marketing experiment. In other words, see if there is any kind of squawking demand for it.
'01LS1 Posted November 4, 2012 Author Posted November 4, 2012 I did not go through every model GM runs, but did find the color is available on the Camaro Dusk edition. http://www.autoblog.com/2012/07/23/2013-chevrolet-camaro-gets-new-dusk-edition/ So if you buy this on a half ton that is in dealer stock, you will have a limited edition that will be worth hundreds of thousands of dollars when you sell it on c/list 10 years later.
Bad Bowtie2 Posted November 4, 2012 Posted November 4, 2012 GMC.com list an awesome brilliant, blue color called "Heritage Blue Metallic". I found out just this past week it came out LATE 2012. I love this new color too. I've only seen one with my own eyes, a new crewcab Silverado called "Blue Topaz Metallic". Sad this color just came out, I bought my new '12 Sierra in June. I would have waited a tad bit longer if I knew this color was coming out. Here's a link to one on Autotrader.com : http://www.autotrader.com/cars-for-sale/vehicledetails.xhtml?zip=76301&endYear=2013&engineCode=8CLDR&doorCode=4&sellerTypes=b&transmissionCode=AUT&transmissionCodes=AUT&showcaseListingId=326032623&mmt=%5BGMC%5B15SIPU4WD%5B%5D%5D%5B%5D%5D&doorCodes=4&modelCode1=15SIPU4WD&showcaseOwnerId=64225337&makeCode1=GMC&startYear=2012&engineCodes=8CLDR&extColorsSimple=BLUE&searchRadius=200&listingId=325493032&Log=0
&CDFiXER% Posted November 7, 2012 Posted November 7, 2012 Looks awfully close to the color of my truck. As I recall the name of its color was "laser blue" aka "looks like something a 12 yr old <kid> would buy" (quote from this forum lol). I get about 1 person per month asking me what the name of the color is. It looks purple under certain light but under most lighting now it looks like what I would call a bright blue.
Doug_Scott Posted November 8, 2012 Posted November 8, 2012 Just saw the Heritage Blue Metallic at a local dealer, it is a nice blue to me. A fair bit lighter than the blue on the 2010-2012 I have not seen the metallic red yet though. There is also a package called Concord Metallic Special Paint Package. Wonder what colour that is?
'01LS1 Posted November 8, 2012 Author Posted November 8, 2012 I love almost every shade of blue! I am not usually a fan of blue paint. Not knocking anyone elses choice, just not what I want to own. But the graphite blue mentioned in the first post looked more carbon colored in person. But it was cloudy & this morning is the first day the sun has been out since last weekend. Need to go back to check it out again.

Grape? lol, sorry couldn't resist. Sounds interesting. I go for about any color that doesnt show dirt like crazy. My 'laser blue' right now does not do too bad on the black dirt and clay dirt I kick up around here but the white dust kicked up on gravel and lime sure shows up baaad.
Bad Bowtie2 Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 Okay, post up a pic of this "Laser Blue". I think we are talking about 2 different colors here,

&CDFiXER% Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 I bet the "Blue Ray Metallic/Graphite Blue Metallic Editions (PCY)" mentioned in the first post is easier to keep clean though? It also would have the benefit of notlooking purple under certain light :lol
'01LS1 Posted February 24, 2013 Author Posted February 24, 2013 Has anyone seen the concord metallic color? Was walking around a dealer this afternoon looking for a Blue Ray they had last week & stumbled across it. The truck was dirty from the grass field & snow they had it parked in, but looked pretty cool *I think*. Need to see one that is clean out in the sun though.
Daryl LBZ Posted February 24, 2013 Posted February 24, 2013 Laser Blue Metallic is a cool color. Here it is on my parents Monte Carlo SS. They get a lot of comments on it.
