wilsonz71 Posted December 27, 2012 Posted December 27, 2012 So Christmas is over and I'm ready to order my new lift kit. I was 99% sold on the RCX 6" NTD lift from info here, until one of my good buddy's mentioned that he's got a lot of them coming back to the shop with bent parts especially the kicker braces. He said he hasn't had any issues with BDS or ZONE lifts so far. So my question is: who makes a good NTD lift for the 99-06 trucks? Is the zone a ntd system? Cst? I will not put a torsion drop kit in my truck, and that's all fabtech, pro comp, skyjacker, Superlift... Have to offer. Thanks for any help guys.
ruggedlife Posted December 29, 2012 Posted December 29, 2012 i've installed and sold lift kits for the past 7 years of my life... i can tell you right now I won't ever buy a full rough country IFS kit, trail master, tuff country, or pro comp. i've had many customers come in with broken parts, had many issues of non fitting parts. thinner metals etc. I love BDS and Fabtech (depending on the truck) Zone offroad is made by BDS however it is not a NTD kit, the BDS kit is however and is a fantastic kit. It's your truck and your money. How long do you plan on keeping it? are you mechanically capable? Would you be able to trouble shoot any issues on your own? I can tell you right now that when I decide to lift my current truck more it will be a BDS kit or Cognito if i decide to get stupid big. (also a great kit) Even my 94 wrangler has a bds kit waiting to go on it. my 90 suburban had their kit as well and i have not had a single problem from them ever.
dirtfan21 Posted January 8, 2013 Posted January 8, 2013 My uncle installed a BDS kit on this '04 HD and my best bud installed one on his '06 HD, both NTD, and one was the wide track. Both of them had nothing but great things to say about installation, alignment, and quality of parts. Both also did them in a shop, on a friend's lift, with no rockstar tools. If I lift this truck it will be a BDS.
