I knew it would fit right down in the truck, just wasn't sure what they did about a transmission. Being they came from the factory with that motor makes it a perfect swap.

Well the factory trans with an LQ9 is the 4L65E. I have about 40k of 6.0 miles on my 60e

Haha I know, just wish it was. A 6.0 would be plenty for me anyhow.

For the most part they are tougher than people give them credit for.

I agree. Dad has over 190k on his with regular fluid changes. Still works great.

Probably the only thing I would do to a 6.0 is add a mild cam, and a tune. I like to keep it simple.

Then a worked over 60e will do fine

Yea, I'm thinking heavy duty clutches, upgraded sunshell etc...

Even with boost a 4L80 isn't worth it IMO; unless you're going to go pedal to the metal all the time. People make it out to be some easy swap. It's not, and by the time you have it set up you could have one hell of a 60/65 for the same effort/$.

Not an easy swap but the experience I've had with my 60e I would take an 80e over my 60e
