I think I'm going with the 5100's since I'm going to add a 2" leveling kit. Not sure I really gain anything, but I figured it's a good enough reason.

5100's ride nice. Don't quote me on this but I believe the z71 package came with either 4600 or 5100 shocks. I know for a fact they were Bilsteins when I removed them

I'm pretty sure that z71's have just had Ranchos as the optional shocks. I don't recall GM using bilstein as a supplier, much less going with the 5100.

Bilsteins used to be used on the Z71 trucks years ago, but I don't remember what year that came to an end?

2000-2007 classics had tennecos on the z71. The z71 appearance pkg in 09 added the ranchos

On another note, my sisters boyfriend got a Polaris RAZR 1000 XP yesterday. Today was my first ride in it. All I can day is HOLY COW!!! The thing has as much pickup as my CanAm Outlander 1000 and handles wayyy better. It's also a lot funner cause you can seat someone next to you and not be alone. I want to trade in my brand new quad for one now, absolutely a blast to ride in. Haven't even got to drive it yet!!

After driving her some more yesterday afternoon I really began to notice a difference with the new shocks. The behavior over uneven surfaces and all types of speed bumps is just so controlled, now I'm not bracing for impact. Before I would be scared of road imperfections or manhole covers, now it just happens in a very subdued and controlled manner, I'm extremely pleased!

 

As for body roll, I'm not sure how much that has improved since I've had my son as a passenger every time I've had a chance to drive her hard. We'll see how much better she feels in the upcoming days when I'm alone. haha

Ordered my Bilsteins yesterday at 5:30pm, and they are out for delivery today. Gotta love Summit.

I think so far the shipping from Discount Tire is the shipping I've been most impressed with.

Summit gets to me quick because of them being in Ohio, and me in Pennsylvania. Even their shipping from Georgia is pretty quick to me.
