2 add-a-leafs ?

Ive used add a leafs in the past with good results, But im curious if i can use two on each

side vs just one, I figure it would give me the little extra height i wanted and then add

some strength and load capacity, And/or find a leaf pack off a similar truck and put a few of the leafs into my pack with the add a leaf spring,

What are your thoughts? Thanks

Yes, you can add all the leaves you want. Just remember to get some new u bolts. If you are looking for the strength without the height, check into some timbrens. I replaced my factory overload bumpers with timbrens and love it. They are much tougher. Still have a little suspension travel, but when you put the big trailer on it, it holds decent ride height, which helps keep the front end on the ground.

I was going to do the hellwig add a leafs also, but i look for the timbren things your talking about and didnt find

the right thing I dont think.. Cam you give me a link?

I wouldn't recommend adding two of the shorter, thicker, add-a-leaves.....it's going to ride like crap. Adding a few extra factory leaves to the pack, or using the longer, thin, add-a-leaves will give you a better ride. You could also get your springs re-arched for more lift...then add something like air bags for adding towing capacity.

What the heck are you hauling that requires that much spring on top of the factory 3500 springs?

If it were me, Ide do the factory leaf route. Just make sure you get the isolator pads to put between them, or they will squeek like the devil. I added a 2" AAL to my 1500 and didnt put anything in between the leaves, and it constantly squeeks offroad.

Whatever you do just remember that the springs are not the only thing that determines payload. Make sure you don't exceed your axle and tire load ratings.

I haul big loads of firewood,2b stone,etc.. I have it loaded with firewood were the springs were flat and starting

to bend the other way.. Why would it ride like crap adding another spring of two to the pack?

Im pretty sure the trucks good for 94 or 9600 lbs, And my tires are E,s @ 80psi and 3350 lbs per tire.

Ya just watch you loaded GVW. As I said before the timbrens help once you load it. Won't affect the ride when unloaded, but a leaf won't hurt. Some people just don't understand what its like to actually use a truck for a truck, not for a prettyboy pavement ride.

It increases the spring rate of the leaf pack, making it stiffer and harsher. It will ride ok if you are loaded down with 500lbs in the bed all the time, but unloaded it will feel like your riding on bricks. Bed bounce will be horrible.

Another Negitive comment...... :nonod::nonod:

How is it a negative comment? He asked for help, and I gave him a fact. AALs make the leafs stiffer, adding 2 will make it ride like $hit. If you are that upset, please leave.
