TGCZ 2.5" level under strut

Opinions please on putting a block that is 1 1/2" thick under the strut to achieve 2.5" of level.

 

Normally the blocks are 1" thick to achieve 2" level. Just found this on Top Gun Customz website and not sure if its safe to do so ?

 

And I don't want to do an upper strut spacer it all. Ill just stick with 2" if its not safe to to a 2.5" lower strut level

Rough country makes a 2.5 that's a 1" under and 1/4" over. Very very easy to install

the 1.5" should make it 3" in the front then?

 

My brother drives an F-150 ... he put a 1.5" block on top of his strut to achieve the 3" he wanted. I don't see why it couldn't work on the bottom as well. I would just make sure they send you top of the line hardware to go with it.

gonna have to pull it regardless. You don't need anything special to put that kit in. Did it on a buddies and its very easy

With the Rough Country type bottom spacer, you do not need to touch the strut.

Don't do 3"!!!!! Will ruin your suspension.

 

Probably good to go with 2".

Mine's a ReadyLift 2.25 with top & bottom spacer. Really not difficult AT ALL to install.

 

Anyways, to each their own...

Yes , that's fine......as long as you stay under 3" of lift you will be fine.

I don't think a 1.5" block will fit under the strut. When I put my 1" block in there was barely any clearance between the top of the bolt and the CV shaft. I'm pretty sure the 1.5" will interfere with the shaft. (I'm guessing that's why the RC 2.25" kit is under and over)

Ya never thought about that, I do remember the bolt nut being extremely close. That seals the deal for me ... 2" it is and if I want more ill do an upper later. Thanks all for your replies

^^^ I agree. My 1" spacer (for 2" of lift) is very close as well. I didn't know any companies made anything over a 2" kit that was only a bottom spacer. Most 2.25" and 2.5" kits are top mount, or a combination of top and bottom. That being said....if you have the clearance, it will probably be ok. However, as stated, a 1.5" spacer will give you 3" of lift, not 2.5".....and 3" is too much. You need a 1.25" spacer....or a 1" spacer on bottom and .25" on top.

i have a 2.5" in mine (over the top of the strut though) and so far its fine. your ride is going to be a lot tighter. Its almost as rough riding as my t/a with stiffer suspension parts. Although you're putting a block under the strut you're essentially extending the strut beyond its OEM resting point for its life, so i've heard the struts may go quicker as well as all the front end components.

and yes they do make a 3" block, and from what ive heard, it takes no time to trash all the front end parts
