A good A/T tire?

I've only had the BFG AT's and got 70k out of a set. I liked them, as stated before, not loud, good in snow and road nice.

The Duratracs look the best IMO, more aggressive than a regular AT.

Yup, I agree. They're a really good looking tire.

Both the BFGs and the Duratracs sounds really good right now

You can't go wrong with either of those. I've never had Duratracs, but I've ran multiple sets of BFG AT's....and I was very happy with them. The only reason I didn't go with them on my new truck is because I wanted a lighter tire to try to save some MPG.

I'd recommend Cooper AT3, Cooper S/T, General Grabber AT2, Toyo Open Country AT2, Goodyear Duratrac, and BFG AT....in no particular order. From what I hear, the Duratrac's are beast mode in the snow.

I can back that statement up, my buddy has them and in the last snow it was LOCKED to the road.

Take a look at the Kelly Safari TSR. They look like a nice all terrain.

I will heartily recommend the ProComp Xtreme A/T. Had a set of those in 35s and they were a helluva tire. Mud, snow, rain, nothing phased them.

Mastercraft is a knock off of Cooper but if you put them side by side you'll see differences in the tread. Mainly the Cooper will have more sipes and a little wider clean out groove. Now as far as choices from experience would Cooper at3 or st. But for snow you cannot beat the m+s Cooper but will wear a little quicker. My last set was bfg at and they rode better and was good in the dirt and sand but I was disappointed in the snow. I've stayed away from Goodyear mainly because for what you pay they should last longer but I have heard very good things about the Duratrac from friends still in the tire business. I happened to managed a tire store for 10 yrs and IMO Cooper's give you the best bang for the buck and they are an 100% American company.

I had Dick Cepek FCII on my last truck and they were great. Wore really well and good in all types of weather. I will definitely be considering them for my new (to me) Silverado. I believe they are also made by cooper. Not the cheapest tires out there, but they worked really well. I got 60,000 out of mine and I am sure they could have gone a few thousand more. Aggressive looking and a nice compromise between a full blown mud terrain tire and an AT tire. I may be alone with this....But I am really tired of the BFG AT tread pattern. That is specifically why I bought the Cepeks.

I recently purchased the Hankook Dynapro ATM RF10's in a LT285/55/20. They look good, very quiet and excellent traction in mud and snow.

The only thing I didnt like was the decrease in MPG's as I was running the stock touring tires before. I've increased my PSI from 40 to 45 to see if that helps.

Seriously, I would ad the Dick Cepeks to the group of tires you are looking at..

Nitto Terra Grappler fan here. I replaced the factory tires at 38k, Nitto's lasted until 92k. On my second set now.

    • The engine was done as part of the 6.2 recall?   You'd have to see if your VIN also has the 6.2 engine special coverage on it.  Coverage number is N252494003.  If you have this, your engine is covered under this and NOT the GM replacement part engine warranty which is 3yr/100k from the date of install.  The 3yr/100k mi warranty is in effect for non warranty purchases.     This is not any different if it was replaced under warranty without a recall or special coverage.  So if you had a 5.3 and it popped at 3 years in at 50,000mi during the 5yr/60k powertrain, the replacement engine would not get the 3yr/100k, and instead gets the remainder of the 5yr/60k as coverage.     So N252494003 gives 10 years or 150,000mi of coverage, which ever comes first, starting at the vehicle in service date.  So if your in service date is 01/01/2022, N252494003 gives you special coverage of the engine until 01/01/2032 or 150,000mi, whichever comes first.  So if your start date was 01/01/2022, you'd have left 5 years and 4 months (lets round to august 1st), or 62,000mi left of coverage.   So you need to know your in service date to know how much coverage is left.
    • Okiee dokie there bud, way to take things to the extreme.   I guess you missed the whole point and take things way to serious. I installed different EV6 style injectors that just so happen to be larger in my car running the same LQ4 engine and with a better spray pattern than the stock style injectors and I noticed no difference in the idle quality. Kinda was my round about way of saying that even if you put the same size but better style injectors in your truck, you will likely see the same thing.    I'm sure you're great to have conversations with in person if that's how you act through a keyboard. One little things sets you off and now I guess my dick is all up in your face.
    • I can't believe that could possibly be the case. It should be 36mo/100k miles from installation. Then again, it also seems like since a dealership installed it, it'd all be in the system and you wouldn't need to worry about registering, either. Shows you what I know. 😄 Hope this one outlives the warranty!
    • I haven't seen inventory recovery from COVID.    In the few random times I 'build my own' truck or SUV, no one has the exact one I want.   GM has been working to lower incentives too for a long time.    A $500 incentive isn't getting me off the couch to go truck shopping.
