Best way to carry 2-3 dirtbikes

I have a 2008 silverado crew cab. I am looking for some different ideas as to how to safely and easily carry 2 or 3 dirtbikes in the bed. I can carry mine by itself without any issues, but when I try carrying 1 or 2 extra bikes things start to get frustrating. I have an "Access" roll up tonneau cover that rolls right up to the rear window. Do I bite the bullet and buy a setup like this one http://www.ccrsport.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=125&products_id=281 (not sure if this setup would even work with the tonneau cover) or is there another option?

why cant you just put them in side by side and leave the tailgate down? I have fit 3 450's side by side and ran 5+ straps over and through them.

I bolted several D-rings to the bed of my truck. I had a tool box & it was a pita to reach the factory hooks. They were about 1 inch rings. I used 1/4" bolts, fender washers & lock nuts. Placed them right under the back edge of the box on each side and 1 in the middle. Right in front of the fenders. I put another on the drivers side behind the fender on the bed side, about even with factory hook to tie in fuel jugs, mowers, misbehaving kids, etc. They worked great.

Had two fit but three would be tight! Strap the handle bars down on the outer two making an x in the center of the bikes, then try to squeeze the third bike in the middle either backwards or as far up forward as you can and use the same or a different tie down point. Its possible but you need to get creative.

Put 2 in, one on each side of the bed, facing forward, tight against the sides for maximum room in-between them. Then BACK the 3rd bike up into the bed. Thats how I have always done it.

How about a trailer? you could probably get one for less than a grand. That's a lot easier than trying to squeeze 3 bikes in the bed to me...

Trailer would be the convenient way to go, if you don't mind the extra expenses of upkeep, plates, etc. If not put them in the bed.

We used to put three big Dual Sport bikes in the truck often. We'd load two towards the outside of the bed first, then put a milk crate in the center of the bed all the way up to the front to act as a stop so the third bike would set back and the bars wouldn't bang into each other.Did it many times without issue
