I was talking about you using the disconnects from your old, original cooler. We never did that, always new ones. I haven't run across your problem, but as suggested I'd go to the parts store and grab some more. Try them in the store.

A little further looking shows their could be 3 different part #'s, One looks to have smaller threads.

I'm sorry you misunderstood me I wasn't planning on taking anything off the old tiny little cooler I was just talking about removing the clips from the original lines so I can get some clips that actually fitthe 3/8 opening from the bushing that I installed in the new cooler. well tomorrow Sunday now so I'll be lucky to find auto parts store that's open to even try this I don't want to go ahead with the hose idea because it'll look ridiculous I'd rather make it work with the original lines in the way was set up before.

I want to thank everyone for their advice and info it was really helpful I'll keep you posted if I get it finished tomorrow if not it will be Monday thanks again

I'm lost. The cooler takes a 1/2" NPT so you can't find an adapter?

We have always been happy with B&M coolers. Ran them on our old Tahoe and SSS. Did tons of towing, including cross country multiple times. Never an issue.

His quick connect won't thread into the adapter. Its not 3/8" for some reason

okay so I went to the parts store and I found new fittings that work quarter inch NPT to 3/8 they should fit right on to the lines and give me a quarter inch to half inch reducer to the new cooler I should be golden

Install done. Got 2 new quick disconnects with 1/4" npt connection to 1/4x1/2 reducer connected to new B&M Cooler. Had to fab up couple brackets on top and and the bottom. Ran it until warmed up and it was steady @ about 140. After I drive around tomorrow I'll post my temps.

Its been about 90 here as well for about a week, and while not towing I haven't gone much above 160. It stays right at 152 cruising, and then if I stomp on it from a dead stop it will go up to about 165 but come back down real fast. Have any pics of the final install?

Trying to post pictures, for some reason "page cannot be displayed" so I cannot post the picture.

Had to fabricate couple brackets on top and bottom, all in all I think it looks good. No leaks, temps about 140 when warmed up. I will post more temps tomorrow when I drive all day.

so my happy transmission is staying at a cool hundred thirty degrees and I've been driving for 40 minutes straight

been doing some harder driving I'm stopping go from normal traffic and it's staying around 150 now steady.. I'm pretty happy GM should have installed this size cooler from the factory to begin with

so today I'm pulling the trailer and on the expressway through stop and go traffic and some straight driving I've got under 200 about 180 steadythat's still about A 30 degree drop from what it usually was

I'm also a little low on fluid so I'm hoping those numbers will be a little better

    • .30” of rain all month and it’s been weeks since that. “Mowed” our two properties today for the first time since July 2nd. It only took 30 minutes because all I had to do was level some weeds and saplings in a few problem areas. Everything else is dead.
    • Dealer reported a failed shifter module assembly so the whole shifter is getting replaced. Yet another premature repair… up to $12,000+ in extended warranty payout in only 5 years and 80,000 miles!
    • According to the dealer it’s an internal leak/failure of the compressor.  Again, another failure that shouldn’t happen at only 5 years and 80k miles.  For some reason the compressors must be hard to come by right now, because the truck’s been at the dealer almost a week and they just located a compressor at another dealer several states away today.  We’ll see if this fixes the issue.
    • I'm not sure if this should be a reply on this thread or a new topic, let me know if it's out of place. This my first post. Thanks 85077522 - ACDelco GM Genuine Parts Brake Master Cylinders. Anyone else had to replace this brake master cylinder yet. I didn't do any brake work, it looks like new parts and I've had the truck for about 4k miles. When it started to throw codes I did the calibrations with a bidirectional scanner and got the codes to clear but they came back so i did the routine; base bleed, automated bleed and final base bleed. All that with Bosch ES16-32N fluid (please look it up). That seemed to fix it but 100ish miles later it failed again so I ran the same process but with a pressure bleeder this time and got the same results, fixed for 100ish miles. The original fluid looked bad and I thought I got most of it out. The codes; P25A2, C05B0-00, C2A1B. I can get them to clear but not for long. The C05B0 indicates a leak in the front circuit (which is bone dry) so I'm thinking of doing the bleed process on that front again today and I don't know if that's taboo to just do the front but at this point it seems like it's worth the try anyway. The new master cylinder/module unit is supposed to get here today. But now I'm pretty much convinced this install is over my head. I've called several shops and some mobile guys that I know but this thing is like radio active material scary wise. I did get 2 local shops say they should be able to do it, one says he has the SPS2 programing capability. And with the battery disconnected is there supposed to be pedal resistance, mine is to the floor, then if I pump it I can get some resistance.
    • I wasn’t commenting on your post. Certainly wasn’t arguing. I was making an observation on my long term experience with supposedly proper length of driving for proper heat cycles. Works for me. Although I have seen water or vapor come out of exhaust when vehicles weren’t run very long and shut off. It’s very humid in the morning. Then hot and humid.
