My suspicions were confirmed yesterday

When the dealer told me that the truck was built but he didn't have a vin I knew this is what happened. Here is the email I received yesterday from the sales manager.

"I come into work with a message
I did not want to hear. I did not get your truck order in to the system in time
for it to get built because they did a early cutoff because of the amount of
vehicles still on the ground. I just sent a email to them telling them that
they are making me look like an idiot. I can get you a 1000 certificate from gm
for the purchase of your next vehicle due to the miscommunication because of
the fact they screwed up. I didi a search this morning and there is nothing in
a gmc that even comes close to what you are looking for in that color. I know
they will let me order a 2014 if you would like to and they would expedite it
to the top. I am very sorry about the inconvience."

If this life changing, No. is it a big surprise, No. Did I need to have this truck, absolutely not. I'm curious what your opinions are and how you'd handle this. My gut says no big deal but the one thing I am disappointed about is that if it would have been ready for pick up as it should have been by the end of april I could have took advantage of a $3750 GM rebates and consumer cash. Its not that I couldn't have been able to since I did in fact order it on February 19,2013.

So what would you do, order a 2014 or wait and pay more for a new 2014 1/2 (2015)

If you are wanting a 2500/3500 since there is not an update this year I think that I would go ahead and order what I want. It sucks that the rebates are not there now, but if you order one you can get the ones that are in effect when your truck comes in. Just my $0.02!!! :jester:

I would be glad. Order a new body. Trust me you wont regret it. Why buy a new truck thats hardly new. It would get to you over time.

with that being said does anybody have a educated idea as to when they will be making the new body style 2500. I know its been posted that the 2500 wasn't going to built yet.

It will a 2015 model, so late 2014 for the HD's.

so you're thinking January 2014 Morsno?

So now the story is he has my truck wrote up as a 2014 order but of course as far as I know GMC isn't accepting 2014 2500 orders yet so who knows whats going to happen next. I would like to know if anybody has any inside info as to when they will start up the 14's

Not sure if it helps, but I ordered my 2013 Sierra HD last may of 2012 and took delivery in the last week of July 2012. They could not find a truck with my specifications and I was not in a hurry. The only drawback was that the pricing for the '13s was not yet available, but I opted to roll the dice and take my chances. The price difference between a '12 and a '13 was only a couple hundred more at the time. You can ask the sales manager to keep you informed if there are any changes in the option packages, but I wouldn't think that there would be much of a change since the HDs went through a redesign for the 2011 model year.

A receptor, no I don't think so. I just know that there are a whole lot of people on here that are more in the loop than Ill ever be and if they want to share information with the group in general, not just me it helps everyone.

yes Im annoyed by people who ask for input and when they get it and its not exactly what they want to hear they discredit the person as you did with David.

To find this truck you are looking for have you ask General Motors if they have this style and color in there system or any thing close to it. As it might be to much for a sales person to dig into. If you find what you are looking for work out a price including are rebates an fees taxes ect.... and deposit. Have them fax a copy and picture of what you are buying including invoice to you showing that it is being held with all parties having the right to do so. Drive or fly to the point it is. Have a car hauler or you can drive it home. I have done this in the past.
