My new 2014 GMC Sierra SLT

Just wondering if they did anything to the transmission to stop it from jumping ahead when you come to a stop. My 2011 seems to be in the wrong gear all the time. Any changes in the shift patterns?

Seems so but as I have said before mileage will tell. This truck is way more throttle responsive and the shifting seems smoother and better timed.

The BEST part of the 2014 is the V8 engine, push-rod V8 is NOT out-dated, sick of people saying you need DOHC, cam-chains 5 foot long, 32 valves, so you can have a throw away engine due to the fact it is too expensive to rebuild/replace!

I see GM 5.3 engines, 6.0 engines all the time with 250,000+ miles on them and still going.

If I do see a Furd triton it is SMOKING blue oil smoke, the engines do not last, they are too expensive to fix and you need to remove the truck body due to the fact they are so wide.

The new turbo v6 is so crammed in there, good luck on working on it much less the engine was not 'tested' out in the field that bogus desert deal was a sham...

Did you upgrade to those floor mats, or did it come with those on the SLT?

Curious cause available mats on the GMC site list: This accessory is applicable for years: 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014.

So the floor shape is the same or what?

The mats are an all weather mat and I ordered them separate. The fronts for sure are different the back I think looks real similar.

I'm really anxious to see an All Terrain in person.

Lots of 2014 Silverado's all Crewcabs where I am at with 5.3 V8's.

Several LTZ models, 4x2 and 4x4 models, Z71's, they do look GOOD up close and they are going put a lift-kit on a 2014 Silverado Z71.

I like the dashboard, not to sure about the electronic read out stuff in the middle.

When you pop the hood and you see the 5.3 it is like home again!

I do really like the new GMCs. As much as part of me thinks LEDs are played out they did a good job with those. Makes me wish I could afford a new one.

I really like the All Terrain but it only come with bucket seats. Tried changing options with All Terrain from bucket to benc seat and it does not allow me the option...Has anybody tried to order one with these options or know if you can?

Man that is a great looking truck. But paying 43k is crazy that's what I paid for my house. It's at least 4x4 right?

I'd love to have one but my dealer down here in OKlahoma still has brand new 11s and 12s. I'm thinking once these 14s start Fillin up the lots. The value of the 900s will drop and I can trade in my 08 with 150k for a brand new 11 or 12 for a fraction of the 14s. But beautiful truck.

What Made you want the gmc over the Chevy? I've got the gmc now but they honestly look a little dorky to me in the newer ones.

11's dang your dealer must not move alot of vehicles. 43k for a fully loaded slt isn't bad expecially when the sticker on the truck was 47k somthing and they just hit lots with no rebates at the moment. It really boils down to what you want and what you are willing to pay for it. I have always been a gmc fan over chevy, for one i think gmc looks way better and two gmc tends to have a few nicer looking materials than chevy. But its all preference really both are great trucks.

GM could have AT LEAST added air vents under the headliner, like the Yukon/Tahoe has..... :shakehead:

Just had a rental 2013 RAV4, the new body style, for half a week. It has a dedicated front vent that that pushes air over an angled part of the dash so it settles in the back row. Clever and saves engineering and costs. Too bad the AC is a little in them.

Actually OK, at least a a few years ago when I last checked, was the #2 truck market in volume.
