Did you drive any Z71's with the hill descent feature? I'm trying to decide if I want it or not.

Yes this feature is awesome. Go for it!!!!!

Plus the other feature I forgot to mention is that the chic in the pics had the major Camel Toe going on!!!! hahahaha My wife actually brought it to my attention!

Just shows that I am an old bugger. 5 years ago I would have picked up on that right away!

Pretty much set on a silver LTZ with the 5' 8" bed. Have to decide on Z71 package etc. Waiting to see one with 20" wheels also and the mesh grille vrs the Z71 grille. A few on the lots in St. Louis area about 60 miles from me. I know salesman at my local dealer pretty well. He's going to call me when they start getting them. They sell Chevys and GMC both. Been looking at the dealer web sites online but its not the same as in person. I'll order mine through my brother, retired from GM. Hope to see a couple thousand consumer cash back on top of his discount after they quit pushing the '13s. I'll take the wife and go lot lurking on a sunday at some point just to look at different configuration's etc. No big hurry, I'm hanging on to my old truck for now anyway.

I have had 7 trucks with the locking diff and have never had a minutes problem with them, but then I am one of those guys that has issues with takeing a $50,000.00 truck out and driving in the bush with it, and generally trying to do everything I can to try and wreck it.

In my opinion after driving them these 2014 trucks are a vast improvement over the current models. Hands Down!!!

^^ DRS95: If you go GMC they have a nice 20" for the SLE models, called bright machined aluminum. Saw some here. Looked way better to me than the chrome clad on my 09. Also saw a Chevy Z-71 with the 18s. It looked good but not as good as the chevy z-71 wheels they were using.

Wheels seem to be more of an aero concerned config now. Like the baby mud-flap in front of the rear wheels.

I'm leaning towards the Z71 package with its 18" brushed wheels. They look good with the white lettered tires. I agree the GMC wheels are sharp also. I just prefer the chevy front end I think. Both good looking trucks. I'm going to look at one with the 20" wheels when he gets it in. The 20" might be a little too much chrome added to truck for my taste.

^ chevy should have a comparable 20 in machined alum. I agree on the chrome. That is all you could get on my 09SLT unless you went to the 17s. I wanted 18s.

On F150s with electronic 4WD (obviously the most common setup) the locker knob is shared with the 4WD switch- you pull it out to enable the locker. I don't see it as being a big deal that 4WD is needed to use the locker- if traction is iffy I'll have it in 4WD anyhow. And I know before you could swap in a 4WD switch and transfer case module from a Raptor for cheap to enable the locker to work whenever. I would miss auto 4WD for sure though. It's mind-boggling that no one else does that. After dinner I drove by both the GMC and Chevy dealers- still no 2014s in GM's home state! Well at least none here in the Jackson area.

2011 and earlier F150's had to be in 4WD to have the locker work. 2012's and later, you simply grabbed the knob and pulled it out, even while in 2WD. On the F150 forums, guys with 2010 or 2011 F150's would could quickly swap the electronics from the 2012's to get full functionality of the locker while in 2wd.

Took a bike ride this morning. Saw first one in person. Can't wait to one in silver. Got the keys and checked it out a bit. Didn't drive it. Had my bike riding shorts and shoes on. I'll drive one when he gets a few more in and one with the short bed. Looks like a beast looking out over that hood. Liked what I saw so far.

So do you have to buy a new truck to do this or can someone like myself get invited for buying used? I've never heard of doing this.
