2014 Pricing

Simple, just dont buy new. Something is only worth what you are willing to pay. I dont regret buying my mazda new. Its been a fantastic car. Im hooked on the brand now. But you onky buy new vehicle's because you want to. No one NEEDS a brand new vehicle.

I love the Tahoe, but I dont think they are worth the price. Same with BMWs. Its well known Trucks and SUVs have the highest profit margins, people are willing to pay for them. I constantly see 8000 off msrp ads in my area. Just saw one yesterday.

If you have to go to an area that has a lot of trucks. By the end of the year, my area will have dozens of 14s, slightly used and 10% or more off.

Truth is, Ford is still outselling GM, that is a true fact. Until GM has the top numbers, there's not much to brag about.

Truth is GM sold more half and 3/4 ton trucks last year. Ford did more one tons and got further advantage because they also count sales of the F-450, 550 and so on when GM doesn't have a truck to match. That is a true fact.

These pricing threads are entertaining. Who the hell pays remotely close to sticker anyway? For the last several years, anyone off the street could get $9-10k off sticker and a little negotiating would get you $12-13k off. The exception to the discounts is if you are the sucker that has to be the first to buy a new generation.

I don't know what lots are full but in my area you are lucky to find maybe three between the two dealers right now. As far as 10000 off sticker right now we'll all I have to say on that is you better get some really good private offers, not everyone has a Gm card me included.

Lots absolutely aren't full.

Do an inventory search for southern dealers.

Just because an inventory search pulls up vehicles doesn't mean they are there.

Getting the GM card and private offers is pure personal choice. Some people choose not to and that is fine. You just pay more for your new GM vehicles.

There is two ways to look at that if u are paying Intrest on balances on Gm cards for years before u acquire the points then essentially my friend you are probably paying more than the average joe. Second I have bought a Gm vehicle every year for the past 6 years, Gm gives me great private offers thanking me for doing so. And when it comes time I normally can call them and get a little more. I have never gotten so many private offers that it equalled 10k

I could care less what may or may not be in stock down south. You said lots are full without any regional specifics and that is simply untrue. As for your claims of $10k off sticker, you yourself said that to get some of these discounts you need a GM card that is no longer even available to apply for so that is another half truth.

I also have the old card. It's great since buying the camaro I have racked up $500 already.

So far the best I could do is about 4000.00 off list on a fairly loaded LTZ. That's a little below invoice. And that's buying with the Gm employee price. No owner loyalty discount on the '14s just the '13s. And a private offer would probably not work for me because I will order mine. Going to wait till July or Aug and see if anything else comes up. Even the bigger dealers in St. Louis area don't have many yet. My local dealer has gotten two so far and one of them is gone already.

I have never paid interest or fees on a credit card. That is my personal choice. If you have a classic unlimited GM credit card and make the right survey choices, private offers pour in. The best one is double the rewards what gives you a 7k rebate plus or minus $500 depending on bonus rewards. I am holding a 2014 GMC/Silveado $2000 private offer I posted in the other thread. Got it because I told GM Card marketing I was about to buy a new Ford.

One local dealer has 163 2014s in stock. I know a few might be in transit but the dealer lost are stacked full. If I get by a dealer I will snap a picture of a 2014 truck waste land. GM sent the new trucks where the economy is smoking hot but they are not hitting the roads as fast as you would think. I really think 2014 sales have really slowed due to lack of exterior change.

I don't doubt that the trucks from Mexico are arriving first and in big numbers to southern states. After all, you are closer to Mexico.

Absolutely. What do you think your resale is going to be in 6 months once the large rebates start ramping back up (sorry, $4k isn't impressive when it comes to GM). Or all the issues that will start to pop up with a new design? I've never understood the appeal in purchasing a new design immediately when it comes out.

But that's my opinion.

You have a nice truck and I'm sure you will enjoy it.

Thank you! 4k off a new truck isn't bad. In six months ill still be fine until all the lots get rid of 13's u won't see much off new trucks. Nor do I really care what it's worth in six months. Watching the launch of all new designs Gm has been putting out I really think the days of 10k off vehicles is done with. I buy one a year on average and this one will be gone too before the so called big rebates if they have them. I wouldn't consider my self a "sucker" for getting the truck I want.

    • There's some truth to the above, but also, she's selling fullsize trucks and bread/butter CUV's like hotcakes, meanwhile, extracting GM's pickups from the deep discounting sales game.   GM's stock has held its own during her tenure, and the more recent buybacks are delivering cash back to investors and signal confidence in their direction forward. Even with the EV losses.   GM is an example of a modern publicly traded company. The #1 goal of any publicly traded company is to deliver the most value possible to shareholders. Despite being a car company, building the best car isn't GM's path to delivering maximum shareholder value.   McDonalds doesn't make the best burger, or the best coffee.   I've mentioned in another thread, I really don't / won't ever understand Cadillac or Buick in a modern context. Both brands are completely dead to me. I'll cede that the Escalade is a nice SUV, but the brand and nameplate mean nothing to me, and GM will never persuade me to pay north of $170k for a gussied-up Tahoe or Burb. Other people don't mind doing that and that's their purview.   The C8 shares absolutely nothing in common with any other current Chevrolet or Corvette on the market. Since its introduction 8 years ago, it's developed quite the following. It did what other Corvettes couldn't do: reduce the average age of its buyer. GM has something there, and I see them investing in the car. They'd better not mess that up.   We've successfully derailed Grumpy's thread again, but I think this one is meant to be more of a random thought thread so a little wandering is probably OK.
    • Sliding doors ftw   Also, Sienna ftw as well.  The in-laws got a 2024-2025 recently when their 2019 sienna was totaled due to a deer back in June.  They've been getting 38-40mpg on the 65mph highway they live on.
    • Forgot to mention that this started after changing the oil I use mobile 1 full syn with mobile one filter but I did add pro lube additive and was the first time doing so and is making me wonder just can't see why that would matter
    • I apologize for long post put going to try to explain everything. Parts replaced so far: Cam sensor Crank sensor Cam phaser valve Cam phaser solenoid Fuel pump Maf 1 injector Pcm Pdm   So about 2 weeks ago coming off the highway my 2007 yukon xl with the 6.2 stalled and would restart. Had unit towed back to house and I messed around with relays and unit started. Drove it the next day and same thing. Had it towed again. Scanned unit and had code p0300 with misfire data showing mainly cylinder 7 but I know that won't cause a no start. Measure fuel pressure and found only 42 psi replaced pump to have unit stall again and not restart. This time I stayed on back roads and just waited for it to restart about 30 to 60 min. During this time I found I have no injector pulse but have good power at injectors. Started unplugging 1 injector at a time and found when unplugging cylinder 7 pulse came back so i changed injecto and same issue. Turns out unit just happen to ready to start at that time. Scanned into unit and found no reason for the pcm to take away injector pulse so I replaced the pcm and same issue. I figured timing sesnor controlled the injector pulse so I replaced both sensors and while I had the water pump of i replaced the vvt components while i was in there. Read multiple people have luck chaging the maf for this issue so I changed it. Unit still stalls to this day and loses injector pulse on the ground side when it does. Have noticed watching the live data the pcm is request injectors to fire via injector pwm value. I have redone the ground wires at the left bottom of the block knowing this was the ground location for the pcm but still no luck. I am a mechanic by trade but this is having me pull my hair out. If anyone has something to have me check I will gladly im not much of a parts thrower but im about to load the cannon
    • Actually.  Wait.   I just re-read your original post.  Are you talking from INSIDE the truck you have to hit unlock?  Or from the key fob?  I had assumed from the key fob.   IF you are talking the inside unlock button, I assume you are shifting to park and its not unlocking the doors?  If so, that is changed via the settings page in the radio.  Go to SETTINGS, then VEHICLE and then it should be under LOCKS or DOOR LOCKS or something like that.
