2014 Pricing

No 4k with the trks just getting here is not bad. That is always the trade off. Does one want the new tech now or you you want to wait and maybe get a better deal. All the while u are enjoying the new truck and tech.

These trucks are up in price compared to the 13s. Just saw a 14 LT Z-71 4x4 with the star package, cloth bench seats mind you, for over 43K list. so even if one does get a good deal they are way above the 13s.

seen a '14 Sierra yesterday at the dealer for the first time. It was a loaded up crew cab SLT white diamond edition with the 5.3L....beautiful truck, but almost fell over when i seen the sticker price of $59,3XX (CAN) ! Even if we got 10k in rebates, still pricey for a half ton truck!

I have been reading at all the post about pricing, etc, etc.
Guys, GM prices these trucks based on the market, demand, competition and many other
variables. They know who their market is. If you can’t afford to buy one…
then don't. It’s that simple. The price isn't going down anytime soon for the 2014. If
you need to have the latest and greatest… you're going to pay for it. 50K stickers will become the norm for loaded out crew cabs. You will be able to steal a new 2013 especially towards the end of the year.. but there is obviously a “price to pay” there as well, you are getting old technology.

So far the best I could do is about 4000.00 off list on a fairly loaded LTZ. That's a little below invoice. And that's buying with the Gm employee price. No owner loyalty discount on the '14s just the '13s. And a private offer would probably not work for me because I will order mine. Going to wait till July or Aug and see if anything else comes up. Even the bigger dealers in St. Louis area don't have many yet. My local dealer has gotten two so far and one of them is gone already.

I have a loyalty card that came to me 3 weeks ago (my 2010 Denali is at 160K so I will be replacing it) at first when I contacted my local dealership they said that it was only good for the 2013's, but when I called them back and pointed out that on the back of the pamphlet it says 2013 and 2014 they went back and checked and sure enough the loyalty card is good for 2014 models as well

Thanks, I'll make sure what I'm able to get when I get ready to order. We have a corporate deal through work with a large dealer in St. Louis. I'll have to check out how that works also.

So am I the only one who thinks that pickup truck pricing has gone crazy? At these price I will never be able to buy a brand new truck again. 40k+ for a crew cab standard bed 1/2 ton??? Would love to downsize to that from by 2500 duramax, but man the price would have to be in the 30's for me even to nibble.

No sir. I too probably won't be able to afford one of the new 2014 Chevy/GMS pickups. I currently own a 2005 Silverado LS Crew-Cab (2-wheel drive) with the 5.3 Vortec V8 and the 4L60E transmission. I bought her brand new right off the showroom floor back in 2005. I paid right at 26k for it back in 2005. I have to say, I've been EXTREMELY impressed with this truck... EXCEPT, for one small problem that I've been fighting and fighting since about 75k miles. I'm sure most of if not all of you are aware of what I'm talking about.. the famous 'Steering Clunk noise' when turning the steering wheel??! Yeah, not only does mine do it when I turn but it does it when I drive over any bumps or even slightly bumpy roads.. you can hear what sounds like something loose bumping around somewhere semi-deep inside the steering wheel housing. I've given up on fixing it now.. I've tried about everything to fix it. Sometimes certain things would fix the problem for a few weeks or even a few months, but eventually it always came back. I' bet I've spent a good $1,500.00 on JUST trying to fix the steering clunk noise.

The only two other issues I've had with the truck in the 8 years I've owned and driven it: Drivers side A/C vents would randomly start blowing hot air, while passenger side A/C vents continued blowing cold air (which I'm still dealing with because I just haven't had time to get it fixed). The only other problem, well, I say "problem", but its really just a complaint I have.. and that's the fact that I think the engineers at Chevy should have installed WAY more insulation between the roof and the roof liner (interior of truck) because when it starts to rain outside, even just a moderate downpoor.. the inside of the cab gets much louder than any vehicle I have owned in the past. Thats another thing that Chevy messed up on IMO. But, anyhow, other than those two issues and the one complaint I have about not having enough insulation between the roof-liner and the metal part of the roof to help quieten things down, I have had absolutely no other issues or complaints.

My truck has almost exactly 120k on all the stock drivetrain, she still runs and drives like she doesn't even realize she's got 120k miles on her and she's a daily driver and has been since I bought her new. The 4L60E transmission is one of the toughest automatic transmissions out there IMO.. and the same goes for the LS 5.3 Vortec engine. These two drivetrain items, when they're combined.. makes for an almost bulletproof drivetrain IMO.

Anyhow, even though I doubt I'll be able to afford one of the new 2014 Silverados/Sierra's, I'm still going to go to my local dealership and check them out and see what they're truly going for. Who knows, maybe the dealership will work with me on the price plus trade-in value for my truck.. and with those two varibles combined, maybe I can get my monthly payment into the same ballpart my old payment was.. which was $421.00/month for 5 years (60 months). So, if I could get in a 2014 LS 2x2 crew-cab (just like the one I have now) for under $450/month for 5 years... I'd have no complaints and could do it without any issues. I could even go up to $500/month for 5 years.. but nothing over that.

Holy crap man! $60!?!?!?! Crap, for that price.. I can go down here to my local Chevy/GMC dealership and get a 2012 Cadilac CTS-V Sedan!! It's only got 13k miles on it too! Jeeeez... $60k for a dog-gone truck.. man oh man. I wonder what trucks will cost in another 5 years??? Scary to even think about really..

Absolutely. What do you think your resale is going to be in 6 months once the large rebates start ramping back up (sorry, $4k isn't impressive when it comes to GM). Or all the issues that will start to pop up with a new design? I've never understood the appeal in purchasing a new design immediately when it comes out.

But that's my opinion.

You have a nice truck and I'm sure you will enjoy it.

I kinda have to agree. It's actually smarter to wait a year or two before purchasing a new body-styled vehicle because there will ALWAYS be things that will have to be fixed or "worked out". In other words, give the new body-styles time to get the "glitches" out.. if you know what I mean.

Our Canadian friends pay substantially more for vehicles than those of us in the US.

Thank you! 4k off a new truck isn't bad. In six months ill still be fine until all the lots get rid of 13's u won't see much off new trucks. Nor do I really care what it's worth in six months. Watching the launch of all new designs Gm has been putting out I really think the days of 10k off vehicles is done with. I buy one a year on average and this one will be gone too before the so called big rebates if they have them. I wouldn't consider my self a "sucker" for getting the truck I want.

If you are trading annually & have a long term/ongoing relationship with the dealership, they are counting on your trade & you will be taken care of.

Well ... that doesn't always work out either. Had I waited on my '07 and bought an '09, in addition to replacing ball joints, struts, repairing brakes & squeaks/rattles inside, I would have also had to deal with burning a quart of oil every 500 miles like I read in the multi-page thread on the subject. Seems the '09's got hit hard with that bug ....

Thankfully I only get a puff of smoke occasionally at startup, with no significant oil consumption.

My new body style 2007 was the best truck I have ever had. I'm sure the 2014 will be even better. As technology advances GM's plem testing is light years ahead of where it was say 20 years ago. Yes, there may be a few bugs, but they have tested this truck with millions of test miles - real world drivers and new simulators, etc.

Basically they can pinpoint any possible issues in advance much better these days than in years past.

^^^ My findings & experiences have been somewhat .......different. :dunno:

I'm not saying there won't be any bugs. I'm just saying the testing is way ahead of years ago. You can see some of the videos... it's pretty interesting. Believe me.. when they rolled out the then "new" body style back in 1999, I can assure you the simulators and testing was nothing like it is today.

Either way it doesn't really matter.... the buyers that have to have the 2014 truck are going to buy it regardless. Me being on example.
