Not a fan of Flowmasters. Much better options out there. Borla, Corsa, Gibson, MBRP, in no particular order. Chambered mufflers are shit for performance and drone like a mofo.

I think it sounds pretty good, but so far of all the different ones I have heard corsa is my favorite. That's what i'm waiting to get funds for.

I'll see if I can get a video of my set up this weekend when I get back from new Orleans. Cherry bomb extremes x piped headers all dumped, which I understand you don't want but sound should range the same either way.

Sounds obnoxious, must have a loud drone in the cabin.

 

I own a modified 2001 Z28, that runs the 1/4 mile in 13.3 seconds, with a quiet Dynomax super turbo muffler.

 

My point? you do not have to have a loud trash can sounding vehicle to get optimum exhaust flow.

I have a vid of mine in my headers thread. I do NOT like flowmasters but the combo of them and longtubes make a great sound. So good Im reluctant to finally put my Borla on.

Magnaflow makes replacement mufflers that are flow through designs and dont use chambers, sound just as good and are not as restricitve and flowmasters and are in the same price range. I did a dyno test on a flowmaster swap over to a magnaflow, picked up a little over 5rwhp with the change.

 

I have the Magnaflow on my truck, I left the resonator on for now. Next month I am putting a set of headers on the truck and a tune. headers will eliminate the resonator and cats so we will see how the truck sounds after the install.

i had a flowmaster 40 back in highschool on my silverado and it was the biggest piece of shit... it fell off from rust and it sounded exactly the same with no muffler
