They test somewhere down south, not sure where. To claim they don't hot weather test is just ignorant.

I just drove a 2014 Sierra that had cooled seats and I'm definitly not a fan, those seats were rock hard. It was like sitting on a park bench.

We drove one with cloth seats after that and they were a lot better, but I still didn't like how low the lumbar hit you in the back, it felt like it was pushing you out of the seat. The deal breaker was when the dealer told me you couldn't get a full power passenger seat in cloth.

I sure miss my 2002 Sierra seats (leather/heated), those things were comfortable.

I asked why the seats are rock hard now and he said GM is using a higher density foam so they won't break down as fast.

Anybody else think GM seats are getting harder?

Yeah I sat in the non-cooled leather seats and they weren't too bad. I just don't understand why they're so flat, I mean c'mon whose rearend is shaped like a tabletop?

I just know that the heated/cooled seats in my 09 CTS were really comfortable, we could drive for hours and not get "butt fatigue".

It could be age but last summer I rode with a friend who has a 2002 (I think) Silverado. 220k on it. I got back into my truck and the seat felt like concrete. But overall I like the firm seat.

I have ai 2014 Sierra SLT with the perforated leather, heated and cooled seats. They do blow hot air out the vents on the seat back due to the small compressor under the seat cushion. The air gets very warm. I weigh 205 lbs. and the driver seat cushion feels like a cushion that is worn out from a 100,000 miles of sitting. After driving for 50 plus miles if teels like I am sitting on a rock that is in the bottom seat cushion. I also have another pickup with 300,000 plus miles on it and the lower seat cushion is much more comfortable. I have been working with the dealer on this seat issue. I have had other vehicles with heated and cooled seats and did not have this issue as they were a different design. If I had know of these issuces with the cooled seats I certainly would not have purchased that option.

Love my heat and AC seats. It's winter time so I've only used the AC on the lowest setting a few times leaving the gym to cool myself off; but I am enjoying the option.

Question: I'm hearing ventilated, cooled and air conditioned for the a/c seat option. I was told the older vehicles, prior to 2014 anyway, were just ventilated and that the 2014 with the vents on the back are actually really air conditioned. What's the truth to all that?

They are ventillated and cooled. No compressor/condensor, but the internal fan pulls air from the seat surface and out the rear of the seat. I'm under the impression that this is basically the way that all cooled seats work.

I'm not 100% but I think Rams seats have air going through them. There's little holes in the seats where the air comes out of. I haven't see GMCs seats with cooled seats so I can't say for sure.

If it's just a fan drawing air thru the seat, then they should just call them ventilated -- not ventilated and cooled.

I can't believe everyone says the seats are uncomfortable. I have the heated/cooled leather seats and out of any vehicle I have owned, they are by far the best I have ever had. Have had two VW's, Chevy car, and a 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe (Heated/cooled leather) and they are even more comfy than my wifes Volvo V50.

The cooling on the Santa Fe seats was extremely good and I believe these are even better.

Honestly, after experiencing vented leather, I can't have it any other way. All of my cars at this point are either cloth or vented leather, and I wouldn't have it any other way
