I talked to the installer today. He said with the Zone body lift he had to cut the frame to raise the rear bumper. Is that true ? That's why he didn't do it.

I didn't have to cut anything on the rear except maybe an 1"x.25" notch over the bar for the spare tire so it could lift high enough to fit in bumper still Edited by z71 chevy

I guess my thought was that since there is a 3.5" lift from RC that only replaces the upper control arms (just a better ball joint is my guess) and everything else is the same with spacers and a diff drop...

The Arms in the RC 3.5" kit help with the ball joint angles and droop stop issue but that is it. Tie rods and lcas will still be maxed out. If you look on the forums there is a long track record of that kit causing premature front end wear.

Just got home from getting the truck leveled.

2" Rough Country Level. Stock wheels and 275/55/20 tires.

Now the hunt for 275/60/20 starts, or maybe 305/55/20.

Looks good!

Thank you.

Now, besides the obvious need for larger tires, I am torn on what to do to push the wheels out some.

I can either run a 1/4" spacer (which will probably net in not much for looks), or run a 1.5" spacer/adaptor (which will probably net in sandblasting the side of the truck, as that would put the wheels ideallly the same as a 20x9 -12 would).

Last option, get new wheels/tires in a 20x9 +0 offset (or something in that range).

Offsetting will make it look even badder no matter which option you choose.

Did you do an alignment after the level?

Has anybody done the 2.5" RC level kit but instead of using the rear blocks, taken the factory block out and putting in an add-a-leaf? I have a 15 crew cab z71

Here are the wheels, more pics below of the level.

Any issues with 275/60 R20 vs 275/55 R20 with chevy dealers? Any threats of voiding warranty, etc.?

I have a gmc with 285/60/20 tires with 20x9 aftermarket rims with a level kit on it I haven't had any problems at the dealership I take it too for any warranty work done. But the dealership I take it too sells alot of lifted trucks so I don't know if that makes a difference or not

I am going to do the 2.5" RC lift soon (1.25 RC body lift later this year). I would rather have the dealership I bought the truck from do my alignment. Is about 20 miles too far or not an issue.

Thanks
