Nice combination! I am considering a similar setup. Is the difference in handling or gas mileage significant?

Thanks Donstar! I've only been driving on it for a day, so I don't have much to go off of ha. but so far I haven't noticed any big changes! It handles just as well as it did before I had the kit and tires on.

Anyone running 275/65/20s with the RC 2.5" kit on stock wheels?

I'm looking at the Toyo AT II the BFG KO2 and the Mickey Thompson ATZ and would like it know if anyone is running a similar size tire and can tell me if it rubs (turning, reverse, gravel/bumpy roads, offroad) and if you had to trim.

2014 GMC RC 2.5"

Thanks in advance

So I'm thinking of installing the Rough Country 2.5 inch leveling lift kit, 20X9 Worx Beast wheels with a +18 offset and 35x12.5R20/E BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2 tires on my 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE Z71. Would I have any rubbing issues?

That will rub bad and you will have to cut plastic and probably some metal. It will look goofy too on only 2.5 inches. The minimum for 35s to fit with little trimming is a 4 inch lift. Go with a 295/55r20, 305/55r20 Max

Thanks a lot. So a 305/55R20 is basically a 33X12.5R20?

Exactly. That's the biggest tire you should consider to run if you don't want to do significant trimming. I would actually say go 295/55r20.

I'm going with 285/55r20 toyo at2 xtremes and the sticker toyo puts on the tire says 33x11.50, on the site it's inflated dimensions are 32.5x11.7.

The 295/55 you more than likely will not have to trim any, and it's a plenty big tire. It'll fill the wheel well up nicely without it looking stuffed

Will do. Won't be for a while though as I'm currently building a house, hope to do in by the end of the year. Here is a pic of a Sierra with a 3.5 level and 285/55r20. So picture this but 1 inch less and white. That's my set up, same wheels too91349dd931e7a3c0dbdf9f50a8810a42.jpg

That will look awesome!

I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A KO2

I liked the look a little better, had good success years ago with BFG. Figured both were good. My main tire shop (Discount Tire Co.) both had service guys tell me the BFG seems like better tire. Less problems they see. Who know....

2" level kit being installed tomorrow, and 285/55/20 BFG on Wednesday! Can't wait.

We need some pics man! Did you get them on? I'm going for the same set up

So I got the 2.25" ready lift put on and I am very pleased. I'd say my truck is done for now. Before I go bigger on tires I'll upgrade the stereo as the stock speakers are a joke [emoji20]

Sorry for the delay. I tried posting last week using the tapatalk app, but it said my pictures were too big. I have since shrunk the photo. Here they are. I must say, what a huge and awesome change. Makes a nice luxury truck (SLT model) feel like a real truck after having the 2" level and new tires.

I had the 2" "Zone" level put on the front. For the tires, I put 285/55/20 BF Goodrich A/T KO2.

Pros

-Truck looks 10x better with the level. (Even with factory tires still on before I put new tired on it looked better)

-New BF Goodrich A/T K02 tires look great on the truck. Not over the top aggressive, but not boring either.

-No rubbing at all.

- Perfect height for what I was looking for.

Cons

-looks about like 1.5-2mpg difference - But I have mostly only driven city miles. With gas $1.80 it's no biggie.

-Noise is not an issue, but the tires are louder than factory. With radio on, you barely can even hear them.

-Slightly rougher ride when going over potholes or traintracks, but not much difference at all.

Overall, without a doubt I'd do this same setup again. It's not too high, not too big tires, just perfect for what I was looking for. I didn't even tell my wife I was doing it. She even said, "Man look at those tires, that looks really good...." she doesn't even pay much attention to my vehicle either. So she noticed. :)

Here is very similar picture as posted before.

I really should do a straight shot vs the angle shot with tire turned. This was just how I had it in the driveway when I decided to take the picture.

    • It's possible the two trucks are using different body control modules which is why yours works and the OP's doesn't.   So much in these newer vehicles depends on model/trim configurations, production date. They don't all use the same modules like back in the day.
    • I forgot to answer the question as per what market mine is set to and yes I finally found that area on mine and yes its also set to America.   So here's something I realized as I wasn't looking at that part in the Sierra section until now, your right that what I see here as choice 3 under Sierra which says 07/2023-06/2026 ( 433 MHz 13542523 ) it has no choice 5 for tire pressure selection. Where as it does under the Chev choice. However I kept going down the list within the Sierra and I am really wondering if choice 9 will work for your truck as it has the same model number and hertz sensor as my truck. I would say try that choice first, if that doesn't work then jump over to the Chev section and again choose that same model and hertz choice as for some reason the Chev section gives the choice 5 of tire type/pressure selection for going back a number of years. Could very well be an Autel thing that they just didn't get the updates all done properly under Sierra but anyway first try that selection 9 I suggested under Sierra and then go from there.
    • Looking for this piece that holds the hose clamp in place. I have the hose clamp just not that other piece. Dealers and wrecking yards in my area will not sell just that piece. They want you to buy the whole air tube $100 +/- to get that $5 part.  that piece isn't molded to the air tube as I looked at my friends truck. It's held on by a screw and nut. I'm trying to put the OEM parts on the truck as the previous owner butchered things up installing an aftermarket CAI. It really looked homemade. 🤣 Thanks
    • Ok I missed that part that yours is a GM. The strange part is that the choice for year ranges and within the year of 2026 is different on the Sierra then on the Chev for some reason as I am looking at my tool at the Sierra choices. Now I am guessing you see as to your sensor part number as it may be different on your truck for some reason and a call to GM should get you the part model number of the sensors you should have as well as which MHz your sensors are. I know mine are the ones as per what I listed but there are other choices in the Autel and got me wondering if by some chance they put different ones in your truck. Having said that, did you try using each of the choices starting from No 1 and going on down the list, not sure if that would mean shutting off the engine each time and resetting the tool and going at it again each time. Also I thought of something else which may sound retarded but if there was some stupid chance that the chev choice would work. The reason I say that is that the Sierra is showing a range up to 06/2026 for the various choices of sensors it could be where as the Chev has one choice that has that 12/2026. By the way it is possible to not run the truck and you may know that as per not pressing the brake but pressing and holding the start button for a few seconds and it lights up the dash ( its called service mode ) but that sucks battery power and if it were me doing it that way I would be throwing on a decent sized battery charger before doing it that way as killing your battery won't make you happy at me at all !.    Like I say, just a thought to try the Chev choices if you have already exhausted the Sierra choices but first it would be nice to know for sure what exact sensor model and hertz your truck uses as I assume only those choices that mention the sensor would work unless a choice that does not mention the sensor model would somehow work. Its frustrating when one is trying to use tools like this without the experience of the tool and the vehicle, as I am sure dealer techs themselves struggle with it when starting out or a new model year comes along that is slightly different.
    • I tried before I updated the scan tool just incase an update messed it up, but it never worked so I updated the scan tool and it still didn't work.   Only difference is I click on Sierra not Chevrolet cause I have a Sierra.   If I click on 2026-2024 I didn't have any option to change placard, when I click on 2023 it does give me the option but when I try to do it,.it says vehicle not supported!   I have my region or market or whatever it is set to America I think, is that what yours is set to?
