Doublecab rear floor question.

Why in the world did GM redesign their trucks and not flatten out the floor in the doublecab? I mean the crew cab floor is better (flatter) than the doublecab and the crew cabin is a longer cab. Also I know the old suicide door set up in the GMT-900 was a pain for the rear seat folks to get in but, the new doors are rather small. I'm 6'3" and did not even try to get in through the door. Gonna look at them again when I get a chance too see if my perception was wrong.

I'm not sure they intended for a 6'3 man to climb back there....lol. You would probably even be a little tight in a crew cab being that tall. I'm 5'8 175 and I can get back there ok... riding back there wouldn't be bad for an average adult.. but not for more than an hour. I wish they had a center armrest in the back seat ( like they did in my old Silverado) that makes riding a little more comfortable. Guess it's not a big deal as I will never be the one riding back there.

As for the floors ... I hear you. I wanted to look into added a sub box under the seat on one side. But all the humps, etc in these new floors makes it difficult.

Just wanted to say I am 6'3" and weigh 300 lbs and I can get in the drivers seat and adjust it like I want it and then get out and sit behind the drivers seat in the crew cab and still have several inches of leg room left!

I agree... don't see single cabs being made for much longer. Cant imagine the demand is that great.. other than fleet vehicles.

They wouldn't have offered it after the redesign if they intended to drop it. I didn't pay much attention previous but I see a lot of reg cabs that are clearly personally owned. Especially Ram Express trucks and F150 STXs.
