I assume you ordered a 5.3L with the NHT option?

NHT??

Apparently on the 2015's you can't select max trailering and not get these mirrors!

NHT is the rpo code for the max trailering option. I was curious what motor you ordered, the 5.3L or 6.2L? I actually like the mirrors, do you not like the size of them?

I went with the 5.3. I drive 120 miles a day back and forth to work but tow a 10,000 lb boat on the weekends so I needed something that would fit both needs.

The mirrors are really big. If I towed a camper it makes sense but my boat is a cigarette style which is long and sleek so no problem seeing with the normal mirrors

I know this may be a silly question but I'm not looking through 20+ pages.....can someone with the tow mirrors measure the width of these? I like my factory mirrors but don't want tow mirrors that stick out really far unless 8 extend them for towing.

16" from window glass to edge of mirror.

After reading the entire thread, I'm still unclear on what will work for me.

I have a 2014 1500 with the small stock mirrors: heated and power glass. DL8 RPO code in the glove box.

Another poster replaced a similar set of mirrors with heated, power glass and signal tow mirrors.

However, the signal function didn't work as 2 of the 7 pins didn't match between the door harness and the mirror harness. It was assumed that the 2 extra pins in the door harness were for power fold and signal. Has someone confirmed that is the case with a voltmeter?

I'm only interested in the signal function not powerfold. If one of the 2 wires is the signal, wouldn't it be easy to cut that wire off the door harness connector and hardwire it to the mirror harness wre by cutting it off the mirror connector?

I've read various people say that with code DL8, the signal function should be plug and play even if the original mirrors only had heat and power glass. I've also read others say this is not true. I'll take the chance and buy heated, powered glass, signal tow mirrors if I know they are either plug and play or the "live" signal wire already exists at the door harness and just needs to be moved.

What is the real story?

thanks, John.

Whatever options you have NOW will work...so if you have memory recall they'll work. They will not however be power fold if you didn't have power fold already or memory recall. The mirrors depending on which you are talking about will not automatically power the amber or cargo/led lamp lights without wiring them up yourself.
