If were gunna be throwing rude movie based comments, it looks like someone went and threw the hunger games on your slip on mirrors! :P

Greeeeat, now THAT's what I'm going to think about when I see these things. Thx for that! ;)

Seriously, WHY did someone think this is what these mirrors were missing??? I don't get it.

Honestly my man I wouldn't know. It's truly is the most random thing I've seen

So I washed the new tow mirrors and wiped them down with a heavy dose of Zaino Z16 (rubber/plastic conditioner) in an attempt to allow for easier cleanup after the trip.

This is what I see about 1.5hrs into the trip. Kinda looks like the chicken is molting or something. Now, when I was coating them, the inlaid portion which is a glossy-ish plastic didn't want to take the conditioner. I had to apply it several times before it "took". Seems whipping in the wind only exacerbated this.

Probably most telling was my 12 yr old daughter who, upon seeing this inlay for the first time while getting into the truck says "WOW DAD! That's, like, cool or something!!!".

The good news is the mirrors worked wonderfully and I really like them. The bad news is that my 12 yr old daughter really likes them. Not that there's really anything wrong per se with my daughter liking them. I want her to like my truck and its accessories. Seriously, I do. But you had to be there. It was kinda a "I like it in a Hanna Montana" sorta way.

Does anybody have door panel and wire hareness removal and installation directions? I found all the parts online from a GM supplier for a total of $786.12 and if I do it myself thats not to bad but don't know how hard the harnesses are to change because I currently don't have signals and would really love to add them.

Where did you order the OEM ones? Or did you not order the OEM ones? Are you referring to the heated, power fold, turn signal ones? Do you have a link by chance if so?

Thanks,

Dave

I ordered tow mirrors from gm wholesale direct.com. They were recommended in this thread, part numbers for the power, heated, signals (in case you're too lazy to read the thread): 22820397 and 22820398

Install wasn't the easiest, but the second mirror went much faster. I drilled out the 4th hole, but didn't put a nut on it. I might order some when I bring the truck in for its first oil change. They don't seem to wiggle at all. Pic:

Coming from an F150, it is really nice to see behind me again and not have to shoulder check. I like them so much that my immediate thought was that i'm never looking back, but then I realized that is the point of mirrors.

One thing i did notice was the connector for the mirrors. My regular power and heated mirrors have the same connector as these mirrors, but only have 5 wires. The tow mirrors that are power, heated, and have signals have 7 wires. The connector in the door has 7 pins; 5 are in the same place, but the 2 other pins are in different locations from the tow mirrors. The extra pins on the tow mirrors must be for the signals, but what are the extra pins on the door connector for? They must be for signals or power fold. If they are for signals, then making signals work would be as easy as moving the wires into different locations on the mirror connector. I could figure it out, but i'd rather not take off the door panel.

Bronco351,

One is definitely for the signals. The other, common or fold? Not sure if those are the power fold mirrors or not. Either way, you could find the wire off of your turn signal switch under the dash somewhere and tap off of it to the in door connector and see if that gives you signal. Not sure if you'd tap there or if you have to come off of the line directly to the bulb under the hood. I would think (famous words) that there is already a common ground in that connector being utilized. I think someone else was going to give the add a blinker line a try.

Side note.... Truck looks great with them on.
