I'm going out to Charlotte tomorrow morning to look at a Sonoma Red 6.2L Denali Standard Box 4WD with Sunroof, Nav, Brake Controller, etc. for $8,500 off the $58,500 sticker. If they can get me the payment and lease terms I want, It'll be in my driveway tomorrow evening.

Brought my new baby home this afternoon. Anyone know a good image hosting service besides Photobucket? I want to post a pic of it. :help:

Hi guys!

I would really, really appreciate some guidance here. I have to buy a truck for my job (they pay a modest stipend, and require it be a four-door). I've made my mind up that it would be one of the base models from one of the American (named) manufacturers.

Long time Ford truck owner, but for this purchase I knew that the most important thing was the seats for me, and the 2015 Ford F-150 XL seats came in dead last for comfort. That was a surprise.

So now I'm about to go deep with negotiating on:

Base model

Crew cab

Short bed

cloth interior

4x2

5.3L (ideally), 3.42 or lower limited slip

Keyless entry

GMC 1500 Sierra or Chevy Silverado WT

I feel that this really isn't asking a lot, but obviously it's the year-end and I have no been able to find even one crew-cab Chevy WT with cloth on the inside - they all only have vinyl. So it may very well be the Sierra.

The one salesman at a Chevy dealership gave me a round-about number for a standard cab after rebates coming to something like 23,900, but that wasn't what I was looking for.

How much should I be paying for a 4-door WT or base-Sierra, or how much in incentives should I be expecting? It doesn't seem like I really should be paying over $30k for such a base truck - they have absolutely no great technology in them, and for just above $30k a comparable Honda Accord would have the world in it.

Thank you!

You can't even be thinking Honda on the same day as getting one of these trucks. If 4 doors is all you want, a Nissan Versa is 11000.

The base crew cab with the 5.3 and 3.42 will sticker for 32000 or so. You will not get too much off that from the dealers, but some. If you can find one. It is a good value (I think) at 30K, though. Lots of truck.

And you can get an all star edition truck for close to the same price after rebates. That is why most dealerships don't carry many WT models.

That's why I got the All Star. Best truck I've had yet. I don't need all the extras, but they sure are nice to have. Dad and I use it on trips it's so comfortable.

I use imgur. Good mobile app too. Use the "linked BBCode" for posting on here.

Thank you, but that doesn't seem correct.

I had a desperate Chevy salesman show me the numbers on a standard cab WT after what he knew he could do, so I expect to get the truck I'm looking for for under $30k.

Makes sense, except the only All Star edition I've seen - and I've seen two of them - were the 'Black Out' ones ... which are a really, really bad idea for south Florida. They could rebate the hell out of them and I still wouldn't want one.

Looks like you need to do some research or go out state to find the truck you want. This time of year you would be foolish to buy a wt model when you can get a much nicer model for about the same price after rebates.

You could be right.
