Adding Navigation to Intellilink / MyLink System

Everything is working fine upon startup. XM radio, weather and traffic.. no call. I was a little confused as well given some of the past posts on this forum.

Not sure if the Radio ID changed but it sure doesn't seem like it.

I haven't got my kit yet, should be here tomorrow. Kodiakz, can you confirm if the radio ID changes?

Took me about 30 minutes total to install. Toughest part was snaking the wire from the new GPS antenna location down into the glovebox area but even that was only a few minutes before i put a flashlight in from the bottom up to see where the best location is to snake the wire down. I would have a zip tie or two ready as well to tie up the excess wire. Mine took a few minutes for the actual GPS signal to acquire and for the system to recognize everything but I went for a quick ride and everything was fine within five minutes after the inital start up. The signal strength seems to be strong as well so far.

Excellent, good to know. I'm looking forward to getting the package tomorrow.

What, if anything is everyone doing with the old module that you replace with the nav version? Seems a waste to just toss it, but not sure what if anything can be done with it?

Thanks!

The company that I ordered mine from gives a $50.00 refund if you return the old unit to them, don't want to cause the guy on this site that sells them any problems, so I won't say who I got it from, but as I said before I thank it is the same person that sells on this site, but not sure, but if he wants to know he can contact me PM...

Got my kit yesterday, took 10 minutes to install. The directions were very clear. If your on the fence about this just do it, you'll be pleased. Thanks kodiakz!

Condisering this route with the factory nav upgrade...has anyone had any issues whatsoever? I drive a lot and always to infamiliar places. Phone can be iffy and hard to talk and use maps at the same time...

Just looking for reassurance.

Hey DeePa,

I was the same way for a while.. Finally pulled the trigger and PM'd "Kodiakz", got him my info and ordered the kit. He was great about answering questions and the install took me less than 30 minutes all in and I would consider myself a novice in the garage... The kit is truly plug and play, no issues here at all and it's full factory navigation with MyLink voice and complete system integration. The weather and traffic features are also pretty cool if you like having the technology aspect around. What convinced me further is after talking to Kodiakz, this kit is full factory GM OEM parts and will not void your warranty at all.

Hope this helps

Does anyone else now have the "Video" icon on your home MyLink screen of icons after installing the kit from Kodiakz? Trying to figure out how/if I can use this since my truck does not have the factory installed DVD entertainment system.

I believe it's for use with a USB device for playing videos
