Yes I have the Kodiakz nav installed and had the transfer case and odometer upgrade done yesterday...no problems

Something to do with the DIC not showing accurate data when the key is out of the ignition "peek in"....both the transfer case and odometer were a software reflash only.

I just install the nav from kodiakz it works awesome called xm and with a little push they added weather and traffic free for one year it is awesome ,I want to address the odometer update situation his nav no way affects what tbare54 mentioned I know this because I took my truck in they told me about recalls said they could do it after oil change I said ok,5 hrs later after 4 failed down loads it took,then went home fed ex showed up with nav from kodiakz installed in 25 minutes so its something to do with the software they are trying to install,I live in a small town with a small small dealer so I went back to the mechanics work area and BS with him a couple times he said its because he had to use a usb flash drive to install to the truck,anyways this all took place the day I received nav fed ex and before installed,but I love the nav and how easy it was to install

Does anyone know if I have to have an OnStar subscription to be able to send a destination from my iPhone to the Kodiakz OEM unit? I have an XM subscription but I don't have and don't plan to have an OnStar subscription. (Too costly) Thanks.

Thanks Chad. I stopped by my local Chevy dealer today and played with the navigation in a new truck. I noticed it had a "Contacts" icon on the map page. I understand it syncs the iPhone contacts to the nav system just like the iPhone contacts are synced to phone feature. This makes me wonder if I have to have an OnStar subscription for the contacts to sync with the nav system. The salesman didn't think so but wasn't sure. He thinks it works like the phone. ie, if you use an iPhone, MyLink syncs to the contacts on your phone so you don't need an OnStar subscription to make phone calls. He thinks the nav system will sync to the contacts on iPhone and you can select a destination by tapping it. Has anyone tried this??

As far as I can tell you have two different types of contacts. You have the ones you mentioned and I believe they are only available when ur phone is in Bluetooth connection to the truck. The other type of contacts are stored in local memory so if you want to store addresses phone numbers or whatever you can. The only time you need onstar is if you are going to use OnStar calling minutes. Otherwise your contacts in your truck will call via bluetooth on your phone. The salesman is correct the only thing you have to do is tap on the person. if you have address associated with it it will pop up... Hit go.

Add another notch to Kodiakz' belt. Ordered module, arrived within a few days. Install took about 20 minutes and everything seems to be working seamlessly. Have not tried to update onstar or travelink just yet.

I ordered the kit from Kodiakz last week for my 2014 Silverado. It arrived Tuesday. I put it in Wednesday morning. It works as advertised.

It took me a little over an hour. That includes the time it took me to find my T-15 torx to remove the glove box. I took my time. After all, at 73 and retired, why hurry. Now all I have to do is figure out someplace to go that I don't already know how to get to.
