I just ordered my nav unit . Two questions will it now enable the the speed limit screen in the 4.2 instrument cluster or will the dealer have to enable that, also will the turn by turn also show up under navigation on 4.2 screen ?

Thanks

I just installed mine today. Took about 30 minutes. It works great. All I have left is go thru the drill with onstar.

Thank you Kodiaks.

If you have mylink (even the small 4.3 screen) then you have nav. You have to download the onstar app pn your phone and as long as you have gps on your phone, it will use that signal and allow you to have turn by turn with audio and visual nav on in your truck. Just figured it out myself today and it works great consdering it's free.

On star tried to lead me down an alley without railroad crossing. The real road was a mile away. No thank you on-star. You aren't getting my money when the 6 month trial ends. Trial failed.

Omg it's easier to buy a house than it is to get the send directions to NAV enabled for the onstar mobile App. I have been transferred 3 times and they keep saying its this departments job, went from onstar tech to GM and GM tried to transfer me to infotainment support . I have been very nice, but it's hard when you are explaining and they don't want to listen .

If you are interested in a kit, please pm me for details. "Factory" means precisely that--same mapping software and F module firmware that comes in the trucks/cars that come built with the nav.

Hi...I have been a member since i bought my 14 sle all terrain sierra 5 months ago & have been watching this thread plus looked into rostra & autospatech..... Also Finally got the wifes permission, assuming it is not a crazy amount to do the upgrade... Please give me any info & or pricing....also if there is a forum member discount. Many members gave you very good reviews & I hope i have a pleasant experience as well.

Thank you so much in advance

I got the module and installed it. Thanks Kodiakz! Amazing response and service! Had the weather and traffic without doing anything. Called OnStar and got the mapping activated in one phone call. Just have one question as I am new to the Chevrolet factory navigation. Is there a way to display the speed limit of the road that you are driving on? This would be a great feature but I can't find a way to activate it if it is there.

Yes and no. There is a feature for the trucks that came from the factory with nav to have the roads posted speed limit shown in the DIC, Chevy won't enable it if you add the feature . I dealt with that last week. They say something about not being able to change some VCI or VIC number. Which I think is bull!

    • Because that is IDIOTIC, much like this question. They've already been forced to do it by past administrations - why would you roll that back when it's a GOOD thing?  WHO IS ARGUING FOR LOWER MILEAGE???? 😂  NOBODY IS!!   I'm certainly not! What I want is RELIABLE vehicles again that are worth the price paid!    I don't get your logic here ...   In 2003 I paid $2,200 for our '86 Grand Marquis. It's STILL running and I've never been inside the engine, aside for the timing cover since it was leaking, so I threw a new timing set in since that makes sense. Transmission is ORIGINAL. Electric pump in the gas tank is ORIGINAL. Rear end is ORIGINAL. I'd have to hit my head REAL hard to want to pay $60k or more for a car that still can't come close to the comfort, seating and storage space, or reliability of this one. Nothing is even in the ball park! Hundreds of thousands of brands and models have been built and sent to the crusher while this one keeps on going!   https://postimg.cc/Z9XRrCSg   I've got a whole fleet of cars, motorcycles, and a truck close to this age for summer and winter. No one could pay me enough to buy anything built this century. I have zero use for any it.
    • Since I'm the one who has to fix them when they break, I'll take vehicles over 30 years old all day, EVERY day, over ANY modern crap. Have you attempted any repairs on anything built after 2006? It's a friggin nightmare, and gets worse the newer the model year.    If I had the will or desire, I can make any car of any age outside of a Model T (I don't have THAT much will ...) just as powerful, comfortable, and have all the tech the new stuff does, and get pretty close in mileage, too. I prefer SIMPLICITY. The less the vehicle has, the less to fix WHEN it breaks, not IF.   I'm glad you snot-nosed punks don't like them. More for us, plus that keeps the prices from climbing more than they already have.👍
    • Bringing this thread back on topic. I just noticed the incredible lack of bright chrome across the entire new lineup. Even the Denali has tinted the brightwork in the grille and has none elsewhere. None of them have chrome bumpers. As far as I can tell there aren't even chrome mirror caps. I'm curious if this also happens out back? Are there no chrome rear bumpers either? This is quite the departure for GMC.
