Couple interesting notes:

- 4.10 gears are the only ones available on 6.0 gas trucks.

- No listing for High Country on crew cab yet. - DPN towing mirrors have no restrictions like on 1500 trucks.

- Z71 appears to NOT be a trim level? There is only 1LT and lLZ and Z71 is optional on both. Trailer brake control is with Z71, and the rest of the package appears to match the 1500 package.

- VYU plow prep alternator is now 220 amp, up from 160 amp on 2014 and prior.

I wonder if the 220amp alternator will fit the older trucks, or if they changed the housing style. That sure would be a nice upgrade to get!

the 6.0 needs to go..... or needs revamping

My opinion...I don't think that all of the Gen V small blocks have been unveiled. 6.0, if I had to guess, will be around for CNG even if the HD gets a Gen V, if the Gen V can't work with CNG.

I would like to think that the upcoming 8 speed transmissions will signal the arrival of a 6.0 replacement, in the 2016-2017 model year range.

Did I read it right that only the 2500's are covered so far? Didn't see the chassis-cabs either.

As far as the 8 speed transmissions are concerned, the rumor that I am hearing is that they will for the 1500's only. Seems that their purpose is to enhance fuel efficiency, and the design may not be strong enough for high G.V.W. and towing applications. Let me stress that this is a rumor!

I agree with newdude, the current 6.0L may continue on after the Gen. 5's are introduced in the HD's. In addition to C.N.G. applications, it is a great base engine for fleets.

Pretty sure Z71 always was an option code, rather than a trim level.
