Rear seat rattling....

Good god... The vibrating down the road.. Now back left seat rattling.. If it's up or down it will rattle.

And the terrible radio reception.. Why chevy why

My back left seat started rattling after I removed & reinstalled it for my audio project. I thought it was the hinge but after troubleshooting found it was coming from behind the seat.

Long story short, the seats hang from the rear wall of the cab & are then bolted to the floor. In my case, the squeak/rattle was coming from the metal-on-metal of this hook & loop hanging system.

Remedy: removed seat again, wrapped loop in vinyl tape, then rehung seat. No more metal-on-metal. No more noise.

What does it take to remove the rear seat? Unbolt the floor mounts and then lift up? I just need to remove the driver side rear seat for now anyways...I believe my rattle is also coming from behind the seat on some sort of metal to metal interaction and this might be it! Thanks for the help in advance!

Four main bolts holding seat to floor, one bolt holding seat belt to floor, & one bolt in the front/center seat leg locking the two seats together. Then just lift the entire seat straight up to unhook from back wall. Definitely helps if you have a second set of hands when doing this!

I owned a 2011 GMC 2500 Denali prior to my new sierra. It had a rattle in the back seat that drove me crazy.

It came from the hook on the back of the seat hitting the "D" ring that is welded to the back of the cab. i put a piece of rubber hose around the "D" ring and the rattle went away. search back seat rattle

Mine did the same thing, I got pissed off and slammed the seat bottom down a few times, now it stopped.

If I remember correctly, they're bolted to the rear wall, so you'd have to remove the seat to get to them.

The loops are meant for anchoring child car seats.

I thought my rear seat was rattling, but discovered it was actually the shoulder belt buckle hitting the side wall. Turns out GM cleverly designed a little extra web to cushion the buckle, but the buckle needs to be positioned properly for this padding to work. So check the position of your rear shoulder belt buckles to see if this solves your problem. 12,000 miles here, no squeaks or rattles.

I did a little investigating into a rattle in the back seat area that actually turned out to be an exhaust heat shield just below the rear seat under the truck. Not sure how it got to the point that this happened, but it isnt supported very well so the wind at high speed seems to make it move and it was hitting the bottom of the cab. I was going crazy trying to figure it out and realized it was more of a metalic sound and took a look under the truck. Sure enough it was hitting the cab.

Does it sound like a sheet metal rattle? My exhaust shield was hitting the bottom of the cab and sounded like it was right under the rear seats

i can push the seat and it stops

But i cant fix it stupid design.. Lol under the seat and you can see how it holds down
