think its a head gasket

Hey, new to posting anything at all.

Told by pretty much everyone that my head gasket is gone. Just did an oil change a week ago nag checked it after it was running rough and the oil is light brown sludge. I have some basic skills but a professional by no means.

 

My truck is a 96 sierra k1500 with 316000 miles. Its my baby and I'd love to do the work myself. Is it even worth it?

Or one of the intake gaskets is shot.

How do you tell the difference and is it the same amount of work?

You have to take off the intake to get to the heads anyways.
