Navigation Updates?

just received and installed my $139.00 nav update (12/2/17) GM Part No. 84376196 - they are calling it the "2018 Navigation System Map Update" release and I am  very disappointed...there are two of the dreaded 'round-a-bouts' that went in near my place over a year ago and they are not on this lates release .

- I feel ripped off :fume:

The previous version was the original on my 2015 Suburban.

I can't wait to see if they overlooked some other MAJOR changes in my area.

Anyone thinking about throwing away good money on a worthless update - you have been warned.

If I am going somewhere where nav is a need, WAZE over Android Auto is a far superior choice to the factory nav, IMHO.

Yup. It's like a super simplified Android OS that gets displayed on your dash. Only functions are maps/navigation, music, calls, and general notifications (weather etc). My fave feature! Would take it any day of the week over my old factory nav.

It's an SLE. Same package is offered as on the SLT.

DO NOT to waste your $$ on the 2018 Navigation System Update...its old map data....

yesterday I discovered that the USBank Stadium in Minneapolis is not on that update, and since the USBank Stadium opened in 2016, there is absolutely no excuse for this

the 2018 update that was released in August of 2017 -

I appreciate the convenience of in dash nav - but for the price they want for these updates and as outdated they are - its purely a buyer beware

so sad

...Are you listening GM??? get with garmin on updates and fix routing and you'll turn this dog into a moneymaker. When I'm really going somewhere the Garmin with lifetime updates and traffic comes out. GM just keep your junk overpriced updates.

Apple Maps is better than a $20 discount on an overpriced (and apparently outdated) map update for sure.

Nav updates will never be a money maker for auto manufacturers. Especially now that most all auto brands are now coming equipped with Apple CarPlay and Android auto

I had installed an aftermarket CarPlay system in my 2007 and loved it.

When I traded her in for the 2015, my only regret was no car play,

- to upgrade to a system with craplay, I would have to spend $1199 to replace my IO6 with nav to a newer one that would reportedly have a faster processor with Apple CarPlay

I am giving this some thought - is there any market for my existing system?
