Discount tires same quality tire?

So I'm hours away from putting a new set of Goodyear Duratrac tires on my truck. I get a deal through Tires Plus because our body shop uses them for our mechanical work so they basically give us fleet price. My cost per tire with my discount with Tires Plus is 289.99 and then I call a Discount Tire in a town 100 miles away and my cost is only 256.00! So am I getting the same quality tire? I was told by 2 different Tires Plus stores the Wal Mart version of that same tire has the same specs but uses a lessor grade rubber. Funny thing is Discount and Walmart are the same price so I'm not sure what to think. The guy a Tires Plus showed me his cost and it was higher the the retail of Discount Tire.

Discount tire has 14 in stock and Tires Plus is telling me my size is on national backorder util late January. I want tires sooner then that so I'm forced to go with Discount anyhow if I use a Duratrac.

I have bought literally dozens of tires through discount tire. Either online at discount tire direct r their stores depending on need. They are same tire same quality, free rotation quick service cannot beat them around here. Get best price online at discount tire direct than make sure they match or are real close. Very happy with service. by the way the duratracs are great have them on my ford 4x4

LOL no, the tires walmart gets are the exact same tires they are trying to bullshit you with at tires plus. Goodyear doesn't have a special walmart line of duratracs, walmart is just able to sell the tires in greater number so they can offer a better price.

I would go with whatever store is cheaper and closer.

I've been a faithful customer of Discount Tires, they are not selling a lesser tire than Tires Plus. Excellent customer service with Discount and hard to beat their price.

They're the same. Some chains will have an exclusive tire with a similar name to a mainstream model but that's it. Like for example I saw once Wal Mart sold BFG Land Terrain tires and it looked close to the AT, but with less tread depth and maybe a touch less aggressive.

So I got my Duratracs today at Discount and while I was there decided to get some American Outlaw wheels too. After I got home I'm looking the paper work over a saw that my new tire say rim width 7-8.5 (Goodyear website) and my new wheels are 9" do you think this is ok? Btw I will try to post some pics tomorrow.

It's actually hard to tell, my vibrations were never as bad as what others seemed to post but I do think it's still there. The new tires are E rated and I'm running them at 40 psi and with so much more of an aggressive tire the truck has a different feel now (loud and stiff). I drove it straight home from the tire shop so I need to take it down some familiar roads to get a better idea but as of now I would say it still has a vibration.
