Thanks for the info. Now I just have to get around to doing it. I've had the shackles for over a year now.

Lowering a 4x4 has been talked about but I haven't found anything specific on what kits people used. Rough Country is probably cheapest along with quality not being the highest on the list. I was looking at just doing the Shackle drop but feel its not much of a big change. Being in Michigan and having random winters with low snow levels one year and high snow levels other winters, I'm not sure i want to go much lower than where the front sits now.

What are people with 4x4's going with? Shackle and block removal or kits?

Kit that I was looking at was the Mcgauphy 2"/3.5" drop

http://www.mcgaughystore.com/2014-2015-chevy-silverado-1500-double-cab-2wd-4wd-2-3-5-drop-kit-34123/

What are the pros and cons with this kit. I can see the front having adjustment issues for alignment since it lowers just the spring position.

Also I want to run OEM style 22's and need to retain my towing ability.

Hey all.

New to the forum and just bought a brand new 2015 silverado lt double cab 4x4. Figured this would be a good place to start asking questions. Going to order the 2in drop shackels tonight, and probably install some time next week, anything i should know before installation? I know i'll have to drop the hitch assembly and bend those bed tabs out of the way. Any other tips or tricks to make this project go smoothly? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

So you can remove the blocks without replacing anything with them?

I've been working on my 2015 Sierra SLT and thought I would post a few pics of it so far. I started with a Borla rear exit touring system and Belltech 3/5 drop, added KMC 22 inch wheels with 305-40-22 Grabber UHPs, a BackFlip G2 Tonneau, a Bedslide 1000 SE, 30% tint all the way around and Putco fogs and backup bulbs. I took off the factory oval tube running boards and temporarily installed a used set of ABS boards off a Yukon. I don't love the look of them but needed something to stop my 9 year old from wearing the paint off my door sills. I have purchased a set of the AMP Power Steps but now I am thinking they may extend down too far. Does anyone have the AMP Power Steps on a 2014 or 2015? If so, how far down do they extend from the body? Would you mind posting a close up picture of them extended?

I have already purchased a bunch of stuff for the next stage, I just need to get the time to install them. I have Hellwig front and rear sway bars, an AirLift 59209 Slam Air kit with a Wireless One compressor kit, A K&N cold air intake, Murimoto Sierra Spec headlight kit, Rigid Hi/Lo driving lights and Rigid diffused flush mount backup light kit. When I install the sway bars the Borla pipes will be right in the path of the rear bar. I love the sound of the Borla touring muffler so I plan to cut off the back half and have a local shop custom bend some new pipes that exit behind the rear wheel, pointing out and down, but tucked up tight to the rockers. A pair of the GMC 23238760 tips should finish it off nicely.

Next stage will be a programmer but I have not decided which one yet. If anyone has a programmer they are really happy with please let me know which model. I hoping to find one that will firm up the shift points. The transmission seems to have a light slip between the first few shifts. The dealers says they all do it but I still prefer a firmer shift. I can't help but think a firmer shift would mean a better life-span for the transmission too.

All those pictures, your truck is dropped only for 3" front and 5" rear?

I'm looking for help in regards to my Stabilitrak. I lowered my 2015 Denali 1500 2/4 with McGaughys kit. It's got Magnetic suspension with those little level control boxes. We bent the rods in the rear to match the factory angle like the kit said to do. Mr. McGaughy and staff won't answer calls or return messages so here I am. At about around 5-20 mph turns on side streets or parking lots the Stabilitrak light will flicker a few times and cut throttle until I straighten out again. I have 24" wheels on the vehicle. Just had a wheel alignment. GM just reset my BCM (body control module) today as well and it's still not fixed. Any help would be wonderful. Sorry for the double post. This one has better info. Thanks!!

Hey Dan, Curious if you got this sorted out. I talked to McGaughys several months ago and they did not know when they would get MRC kits to production.

No I have not,

I've called McGaughys many times and no one returns calls. Funny they say they haven't made a kit for this truck yet when I ordered it directly from them. Also my boxes say McGaughys all over them. Magnetic suspension is garbage imo!!!

I see the '15 drop kits with MRC are listed as "coming soon, call for info" but the 2/4 is only for 2WD. http://www.mcgaughystore.com/2015-sierra-1500-denali-lowering-kits/ Starting to get a little more excited. I juts hope I can still add bags for when the trailer is pinned up.

Did you get the '14/15 kit intended for non MRC shocks? Was there any shock relocators or sensor rods with the kit?

Nice truck, mine is at 4/7. How much you pay to get it color matched?

I've decided I'm getting rid of my lift, ordered some bilstein 4600 for the front, going to go back down to stock height and I'm removing my rear blocks. I think it will look good with my 22's.

Can some one confirm this, on the 2014-2015 sierra, the back wheels doesn't line up with the fender evenly. On my 2015, the driver side wheels stuck in about half an inch. On the passenger side is about even with the front. I though it was just mine, but i got a loaner for the day and I check it out. It's the same thing. I'm not sure this is happening to every GM truck or not. It might be the cause of all the vibration that we're having. Please check. Thank you.

I noticed this on mine the other day after I removed my rear blocks.
