Also, don't swap bulbs on a humid day!

Not waiting till Dec. :)

Possibly water got into the connection and shorted them out? Put a big glob of die-electric grease in the socket before connecting.

It's possible. This is what they looked like when I took them out

Didn't notice you said HID... this is the LED topic. But anyway, likely they a) got wet while still really hot and popped or b) shorted out due to how you wired them.

I figured since it was fog light related it'd be ok lol. But I wired it the same way I had them on my nnbs. Idk what happend. Now I'm scared to put new ones lol

Double check your wiring and ensure all connections are water-proof. I had some moisture issues on one of my LED fog lights so I coated the entire rear of light/bulb/wiring with butyl rubber.. problem solved.

I looked again and there is a bunch of water in the one housing. ...like 1/2". We had alot of rain here in NJ a few days ago and it got worse. I now have to remove the housing and empty it.

I have a 2014 Sierra on order and was think of replacing the stock fog with these PIAA LED fog lamps. http://www.piaa.com/store/p/188-LP-530-High-Intensity-LED-Fog-Light-Kit.aspx They are a little smaller than the factory lamps and I wonder if I can wire a plug to the PIAAs that will plug into the factory wiring

Those look cool. And odds are doing the wiring will be much easier than the physical mounting of lights. The make connectors on eBay that mimic the 5202 bulbs socket.

Not yet. You considering..?

I'm making a prototype model within the next 2 weeks out of foam then ordering metal and mounting them with combo lighting. If it goes smooth I may see them. But the lights aren't rigid brand tho

planning on the vled's or putco's soon. looking around i found these genssi 80w led's (http://www.genssi.com/index.php/80w-cree-white-h16-5202-9009-high-power-led-12v-fog-light-led-lamp.html)
found them on amazon for half the price on their website with free shipping (http://www.amazon.com/Genssi-2x-White-Power-Light/dp/B00GGZ8U5A/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1401091378&sr=8-1&keywords=genssi+5202) anyone ever tried these? or tried any of their products before? 30 watts more than the vled's(questionable to me) and around the same lumen output. around 20$ cheaper aswell.

Amazon backs the purchase/return, so I'd say go for it.

LED bulb designs are constantly being improved upon, increasing in capability and value for dollar. VLEDs were the best available 6 months ago but by now there could easily be better stuff available.

Just installed VLED fogs....I'll be pissed if something is better and cheaper AND white. :(
