LED Fog Bulbs & Lights

How easy was it to mount the 20" ight bar where you did? Been interested in doing this and pics or info will help thanks.

Lights are installed on my Denali - I need to make final adjustments but it will have to await until the weekend.

here are the ridgid D2's in the ridgid mounts. finally talked them into putting some in the trucks on the lot and this one sold the same day it wnet out.... these things are outrageously bright. i cant wait to do some of the DOT/SAE ones

I just ordered my DOT/SAE D2 fogs and brackets for my truck and was wondering which connector to order to keep all the factory wiring in place? Do we need the female or male 5202 connector? I would like to keep the factory wiring intact.

You'll just have to cut off the HID connector and use the Rigid plug that comes with the DOT pods

Another member asked about it. But no one has tried it. It's worth a shot! I think that they could work with some modification.

This is what I did last night. The Rigid DOT/SAE fogs come with a full harness. For our installation, it isn't used nor necessary. These lights pull less current than the stockers. So, direct plug-in works fine. I took the Rigid harness and cut off the Deutsch connectors with a few inches of wire. Then did the same with the jumpers that Mike has the link to. I soldered them together, heat shrink'd the individual wires and spiral electrical taped the wires for chafe protection. It's just "plug-n-play" for the electrical on the truck.

By the way, I have the "fog lights on with high beams" mod.http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/162734-foglights-on-with-high-beams/ I'd recommend the original 10-18 mod I did, so you can turn them on/off when you desire. These lights are reasonably powerful and there may be times you don't want them on (depending a lot on how they're aimed).

So my LMZ 25w 5000k came in. What a b*&*$ to install them!

The 5202 collar are just garbage by design, worst bulb socket EVER! Keep in mind, between the collar and the bulb base thread is not sealed! I had to take it out again and add Teflon tape to seal.

The clips are so bad, I broke one of them. I end up clipping all of them off and zip tied the crap out of them!

I didnt drive the truck out and get a good shot of the beam pattern, but you can already see it is awesome!

Here it shows that they pretty much match the DDM 5000k just fine

My old LED fogs are just garbage, simple measurement to compare, it is totally off!

I am so excited to drive them in the dark now!

I am not sure what happened, forum was not working this morning, and slowly each topics seems to get restored. Maybe a hard drive crash? Here is the results for my 25w LMZ fogs again.

I think the beam pattern is way better than I have expected, the light output increase on country road increased significantly. Beam pattern is already great by matching the offset like the stock halogen bulb, the pattern does not even hit the road signs. This means it should not be blinding anyone.

Just did the rigid DOT fogs with rigid mounts on my sierra, can't comment on the lights yet because I am still waiting for the harness to chop up instead of my factory wiring.

Drivers side was easy once you figure out how to get the fog light out.

Passenger side is difficult. You need to trim an interior piece of plastic guard/shroud. The bolts/nuts are very hard to install and get to. I used a 6" hack saw blade by hand to do the cutting. Came out clean once touched up with a razor blade.

I took 4 bolts out of each of my fender well covers. The two in the middle near the tire and the two in front so I could get better access.

In order to get the passenger side upper bolts in...I aimed the fog light all the way up in the housing and used grease to hold the washer on my finger to get on the screw and again with the nut on my finger to hold it on the screw while used an alan wrench from the front side. Tricky but doable. Was easier than putting the mount in without the fog light installed.

Hope this helps someone and i'll report back once my lights are working.
