Ordered a set of the new Rigid Dually DOT/SAE approved lights last night. Since I'm not getting my headlights retrofitted this Christmas I guess this will be my present to myself!

Will post up output pics as soon as they come in so we can all see how they perform

Looking forward to seeing how they turn out and how they compare with the current set up. I might end up doing the same thing, easy enough to switch them out

They likely won't be as bright since they are rated for only 1,760 raw lumens while the Dually D2 driving beam lights that I currently have are rated at a bit over 3,000. Don't remember the exact number off the top of my head, But it will be nice to have some street legal fog lights again. Debating on even maybe selling the Duallys I have now and getting some of the 6" DOT/SAE lights and putting them on either side of the GMC logo in my grille and wiring them into the fog lights would give me plenty of street legal light and I may even just forget about getting my projectors retrofitted if I do that :) But I'll think more about crossing that bridge after I get these DOT approved pods for my fogs.

Mike,

shoot us some beam pattern shots when you get them.

I may be interested. I am trying to find the sweet spot of having a set of fog lights that provide wide beam usable light without blinding oncoming traffic and be powerful enough to do some good for short distances. The really powerful off-road lights I have are fine for use in the boondocks or on that country road in nowheresville with no traffic. But something more moderate is what I'm needing.

I have the Morimoto XB fog lights that are about 1200 lumens and may be what I end up using. They are very modest, but still have utility.

Took my rig in to get lift put on this past Friday, so when I get it back I'll post pics.

Any pics? I think these are the "on road with traffic" solution.

although bright... do they illuminate any better than stock halogens?

Looks like there may be a clearance issue behind the bulb.

Wow. Had some issues with my phone earlier and couldn't quote the pics.

So now that I'm back on track. Has anyone installed this style of cree leds? There was a good bit of discussion but no pics of finished projects. I'm concerned of clearance on the rear of the lights and the light output being focused correctly. For 100 bucks they better do more than just match the color!

Will these fit in the GMC fog light kit Rigid makes? I'm assuming it's a yes since they are still a D series light.

Can't wait to see pics of them.

Thanks

Yes they should fit right in the fog light mount from Rigid. I will be able to tell for sure when they arrive. They will be shipped out direct from Rigid either late the first week of January or early the second week. Or at least that is what I was told

Happy new year! I am new to the fourm and wanted to say hello to every one.

I have a 2014 Sierra with the fog deletes . I just ordered the bezels today for the factory Fogs

I found a pair of DC9 taxi lights 12 volt in my old hay day box from the airlines.. They would fit if

I made brackets but it's best not to put them in. If I flashed them and the cops were around I think it would not come out to good for me. I'm looking for a stock pair of the lens to put in the bezels . I saw somewhere in here a member may have a set to sell. If you know of the member please pass it on .

I read somewhere that It would not do me much good to purchase a stock. wire loom or switch .

The article said they are controlled through the BCM. I was wondering if this is true. I may just run my electrical another way

Another way.

thank you,

Wishometer
