So I bought a new 2014 silverado regular cab 4x4 started out nice. Truck has a lot of power and I went with a work truck with up graded options, so the truck is black bumpers are black and after a leveling kit and a set of the new rockstars with nitto mt tires. The truck looks mean drove nice too. I drove it from florida to Tennessee for thanksgiving and half way up there started getting a vibration well I will try to cut this short had tires and wheels balanced twice in tn. Didn't help got home took it back to dealer with 2000 miles on it they kept it for 7 days! Then they call and say it was a tire out of balance I go get it and the truck is the same I was hot. I have taken it to another dealer and they say it's the tires but I have gm truck my whole life and have had oversized tires on everyone what I feel is not a tire and I'm not getting any help from gm simply the new trucks have problems and gm won't own what they sell and stand behind it

I had the same or similiar issue on my new (ordered) 2008 GMC Sierra.

Vibration.

The original dealership took a drive shaft off a new in stock truck and replaced mine.

After, of course balancing all of the rims/tires.

Still had vibration. But not as bad. But this was a new truck and should be close to perfect.

After multiple trips to dealership - the service manager went with me on a drive on highway.

At conclusion - I was told there is nothing more that can be done. Still a vibration.

There are/were more options for action by me - but I just traded the truck in.

I had the truck for nearly 2 years.

Suggestion.

Keep all records of this issue.

If it is a driveshaft issue & the dealer refuses to help, most any machine shop can balance it. Not that YOU should have to do this, but it is an option.

The late 90's Firebirds had the same issue. Bought mine 2 years old & think it was $50 to do.

Yeah I think after I spent over 30k I shouldn't be working on it. I have a 2000 with 175k miles also that rides great I just thought I wanted a new one

I have had Gm short box 4x4s for 40years Ordered 2014 Came in last month at my dealer. Took it for a test ride around the block and noticed a vibration in driveline just before i came to a stop. The dealer agreed. I did not take the truck. They had the rep drive it and he said it was a something owners of the new 2014 shortbox 4x4 owners will have to live with! I just cant believe it.

Has anyone found the source of the vibration? Had my stock 18"s forced balanced. Still have vibration.

I seem to notice a bad vibe at 70-75, steering wheel really vibrates....seems like if I speed up to 80 then comeback to 70 its not as bad....going into the dealer on Tuesday to have it checked.

I also have been fighting a vibration issue for the last month. On one visit the tech told me to deal with it!! I was so mad that I raised hell when I got back to the dealership. They had a engineer come out with a fancy computer and he said there was nothing out of spec. So I drove another truck and nothing. The head manger took the tires off that truck and put them on mine. Drove it today and it is much better but not perfect. Now I'm trying to decide if I still want to go back for the rest of the fight or not. They have my money and they just don't care unless I raise a big stink and they want to shout me up.

    • Follows the motif on the Sierra EV.  Satin finsh to the lower bumper area, painted above:   Elevation       Denali
    • Not exactly what I was hoping for, but I do like it. I wonder if they'll bring back Smokey Quartz Metallic? 🤔 https://gmauthority.com/blog/2026/06/here-is-the-all-new-2027-gmc-sierra-1500/
    • Whoever greenlighted the work truck matte black front bumpers on every trim but the AT4X should be fired!  I was hoping that was an AI mistake, but just realized they were on every model of the 2027 Silverado too.     Some parts of the interior do look premium, but the Denali Ultimate dashboard looks like an afterthought.  At least they appear to have lost the microfiber the high end Silverado models showed, but the '27 High Country dash looks better than the Denali.
    • New member here. I am researching a read-first event-recorder concept for late-model GM V8 trucks. This is not a sales post. There is no product link, price, preorder, or mailing list. I am trying to determine whether the underlying problem is real before building anything.   Has your truck ever had a brief problem such as: - rough running or a momentary misfire - an oil-pressure warning or unusual pressure event - reduced power or a brief stall - a U-code or lost-communication problem - a symptom that disappeared before the dealer or independent shop could reproduce it   If so, I would appreciate the following details: - year, model, engine, and mileage - what happened and under what conditions - whether a DTC and useful freeze-frame data were stored - whether the shop was able to reproduce it - what the eventual confirmed repair was, if known - what additional information would have helped the diagnosis   The concept being evaluated is a removable leave-in recorder that continuously retains a rolling window from before and after an event. It would not tune, reflash, clear codes, or change the vehicle calibration.   I am also not claiming that it could predict lifter failure or see every internal ECM variable.   The real question is whether continuous event history would add enough useful evidence beyond freeze frame, GDS2, and existing scan tools — or whether it would simply be another unnecessary gadget.   For owners and technicians, which problem would make something like this genuinely useful: 1. intermittent misfire or AFM/DFM-related behavior 2. oil-pressure events 3. lost communication or electrical faults 4. none of the above Please be blunt. Negative feedback is just as useful as positive feedback.
    • No tears over the SLE and SLT trim levels disappearing but I kind of loathe the "Elevation" name. It's a truck--skip the elegance.   The slab-dashboard design is decidedly different. Almost has a Hummer flavor to it. "Professional Grade" seems to be leaning very white-collar, tech-driven these days moreso than blue-collar, functional design.   The Silverado would be my choice between the two new trucks. Pleased with the engine lineup in both. The GMC is a little "too much" for a truck, IMO, and the Denali borders on ridiculous - but I do know there are buyers for luxury trucks out there. It's just not my speed.
