M4 m5? Are u referring to manual shifting?

Not exactly. The M mode just locks out gears above your selection. M4 only uses gears 1-4, etc. You don't have to shift anything. It keeps RPM where it belongs IMO. With 3.42s I usually use M4 up to 40 or 45 and M5 up to 50-55 or so.

It was never noticeable before the exhaust... But after it just seems like the truck is gutless now... + you can not only feel the truck shifting but now u can hear it struggle... Honestly.. Ever since the exhaust being changed the truck drives like crap

Thank you for being honest. I'll be sticking to stock for now.

What exhaust did you put on?

Flowmaster 40 dual in dual out... I removed all the existing pipe that came stock on the truck... No valve anymore or resonator Just cats and mufflers

And i know what you mean about how it struggles to find the right gear and keeps shifting when it doesnt need to be. Every 6 speed gm ive driven since theyve came out in these suvs and trucks do that. I hate it, but my last truck blackbear tune fixed it perfect. It was night and day difference. My 2010 was alot worse than this 14 though

We'll I'm glad to hear I'm not the only one but not glad because it just down right sucks for me and everyone else experiencing it... If this truck had the older 4 speed trans I would enjoy it much more I think..

On my 2010. I had flowmaster 44s and for some reason it felt like it downshifted alot more than stock. I then switched to borla and that went away. Still shifted like a stock 6 speed but the borla i felt made it run and shift alot better than the flowmaster. I then got a blackbear tune and it was a completely different truck.

Any chance you kept the parts that were cut off or maybe they still have them and haven't hauled their scrap parts? Seems the easiest solution is to reverse what you did and the problem is solved, sans the $, but again no drone or shift concerns. Keep us posted.

Just curious how long have you had the exhaust on the truck, and how long after that did you notice the weird shifting. It could be that the computer is confused, and is trying to relearn its shifting pattern taking into the account of possible loss of back pressure. I've always done this rule of thumb... When ever adding a performance part to a vehicle I disconnect the battery for an extended period of time. Or disconnect the positive and ground it on something (not the negative terminal tho) it drains the memory on the ECU/PCM and the truck will relearn from a fresh start.

I just can't understand how an exhaust can make that big of impact on how the truck runs.. It feels like a completely different truck.. Flowmaster isn't some cheap knock off brand.. There products have been around for years. I don't see the muffler causing that much of a change to make the truck run as it does today.

It seems to have lost power... Is it because of the muffler? Idk... Maybe I never noticed before because u couldn't hear the truck before but it sure seems like the power took a hit after the flow master...
