There's a thread I posted to a while back, but basically, I removed the grill, and mounted it through the standoffs at the bottom of the grill.

I would also like to see pics of the RB10's on a leveled truck. I love the look of them but just haven't seen any in person.

Installed the iBoards this past weekend as well. Took me almost two hours to install because I tried to make sense of their stupid instruction manual (one instructional manual doesn't work for all trucks) Only time will tell if they weather well.

I got my steps installed this weekend, once I finally got the right ones. Some idiot (he says, trying to look innocent) ordered crew cab instead of double cab, the first time around. However, once I straightened that out, they went on pretty well. They're eBay copies of the OEM rectangular ones, but I had them at my local Chevy shop, and they said they looked identical to them. The only difference they saw was that the factory ones come with the brackets attached to the rails apparently. Mine came in pieces, and I had to figure it out, with no instructions to help. The only real problem I had was that some of the little clips that go in the body holes didn't line up, so I couldn't get the bolts through. With a little bit of creative re-shaping of the clip, I was able to make it work (and I only lost one of them down into the body panel!).

 

I went back and forth over the "chrome" vs "black" debate, and I'm pretty happy with my decision. I probably would have been equally happy the other way though too.

I have been looking at getting the Amp Research steps for awhile now which actually is one of the things that led me to this board.

 

It seems like getting the Plug and Play kit is the way to go from what I've seen. What are your guys thoughts of them? Is there a certain place you recommend picking them up from? I'm not opposed to paying full price for them but if there is a better deal out there then I'm all for it.

I just got mine on this afternoon. My wife is 5'3" so these were her idea. I'm pleased with the fit and function of them. As for pricing, there are a few place guys on here use a lot. Auto anything is one of them and Tonneau factory outlet has good prices on them, also

Thanks! I hadn't heard of Tonneau but I did run across AutoAnything. I'll definitely check them out.

 

Did you self install? If so, what are your thoughts on it? It seems pretty straight forward from what I've seen. I'm planning to purchase mine this week and have a friend who has done it on his Dodge which requires a bit more disassembling from the sounds of it so I'm thinking between the 2 of us it shouldn't be too bad.

I posted this earlier but I got a good price from http://ourdealsrock.net/ and they must be an authorized seller since I was able to get a Lund rebate after I bought from them (Lund owns Amp Research).

 

The P-n-P is DEFINITELY worth it. I also bought the OBD pass-through harness (this is not needed but allows you to still have an empty OBD port after you connect the P-n-P harness and the empty OBD port mounts right in the factory location). I did the install myself and taking my sweet time and being OCD it still only took me about 4 hours from the time I opened the box until I was finished cleanup. Everything mounts right up and you only need to drill a small hole under the driver's floormat. All the harnesses are the perfect length and the instructions are pretty good.

 

The only thing the instructions don't tell you that I recommend is do not make all the bolts tight until you have the brackets hung and the boards mounted to the brackets. At that point you can go back and tighten then torque everything. It makes lining everything up much easier.
