Well I wish I had more info but I use a 4x4 shop here in WV that does all my work so I'm not sure what they used. I just know it works great. For more info contact s&s custom 4x4 in St. Albans WV.

Looks like you have 4 lights in the bed. I will have to double check, but I only remember seeing 2 in mine.

im digging the whole switch idea on the tail gate... would like to see some more info on that as well.

The switch is a great idea. Now you would need to put in a light sensor too so that if during the daytime you are busy using your truck and the tailgate is down for a long time, might drain the battery. On the other hand, they are led so the drain would be small.

Yes, Mine is a 2013. However, the lights are OEM GM lamps. I bought 2 kits and wired them together.
