How about just removing the bulbs ? If you don't want them just remove them

Headlights function as DRL's so no removing them

Moto I don't think that's right on the SLE/SLT trucks. Only the LED strips are the DRL, at least on my truck it works that way.

Yes, that's correct.. I was just trying to convey to him that on the 2014's removing the bulbs is not an option.

If I had LED DLRs this thread would be moot. However I don't and I don't like driving around looking like a geezer who turned on his headlights on by mistake. ;)

I just noticed today that my DRL's were not on and no matter what I do they will not work. I do not know if I somehow disabled them without knowing it or there is an issue with the system. The upper and lower LEDS come on when remote started but go out when the key is placed in the ignition. They come on when the fogs are activated. The manual to auto light control does not make any difference. I cannot find any other lights that are not working. I have to get the rear slider recall done so I guess I will see what the dealer say about this.
I had the same issue on Sunday. My drl didn't turn on when on drive and the green icon on the dash wasn't lit. When I turn the nob manually then the green light came on and the drl came on. It hadn't happen before and I haven't driven my truck cus I barely drive it. I did Install HID with the relay and canceller, but like I said it didn't happen before. And this happened Sunday around 10am.

Try unhooking your battery for 10 mins then reconnect. There are many more modules/computers/controllers in these new trucks and, after talking to a buddy that deals with similar systems, he advised many times doing so let's them all restart/reboot in proper sequence. I had a infrequent glitch with my Intellilink and the battery unhook resolved it.

Looking like a "geezer" because the DRL's are on, seriously? It is not the1980's anymore and there is probably a few million vehicles of various makes and models with active DRL's on the road. It's common enough to see on the roads that if anybody is really thinking of the stigma of a "geezer" behind the wheel, they really need to grow up and get with the times.

I disconnected my battery for a few minutes and did not see any difference at first, I did not look at the DRL's while in gear but noted that the green DRL indicator did not light. Later that day I pulled into a hardware store with glass front and noticed that my DRL's were on with no dash indicator on. Checked when I left work and they were not on. I think there is a software glitch and need a reboot. Maybe I did not have the battery disconnected long enough?

Took the truck in today for the rear slider bulletin so I told them about the DRLs. They spent some time troubleshooting that the headlight DRL's were inoperative, I saw the tech and when he told me that, I said this is a GMC not a Chevy! They verified this as they were surprised that GMC would use LED's for DRL's. The DRL LED's worked perfectly while at the dealer and they said that the green dash light should only be on when the headlights are on. Can anyone with a GMC verify this? I thought it had always been on but maybe I was wrong. Interesting thing is the tech told me that there were two errors recorded in the BSM, one for rear lights and one for license plate light. He asked what I had done, which was the LED bar and the LED bulbs in the license plate. It is not causing an issue but interesting that anything connected or changed on the truck is recorded. I will keep watching to see if they come on regularly.

green dash light is only on when the headlights are turned on. green light not on with drl

14 silverado. I unplugged mine for about an hour. Still my green dash light doesn't turn on and my headlights are on during the day all the time now Idk if the hids I installed triggered something. When I manually turn the knob for only drl they turn on and the dash green light comes on. Also when it gets dark the green light comes on and I'm not sure if the drl are on also since I can't see them with the hids shining.

There is no dash light for when the DRL are on, only when the headlights and or the driving lights are on will you see the green dash indicators.
