I have 2015 Silverado dble cab. It also has sudden pitch-blackouts of mylink screen & entire dash display. Sometimes lasts for minutes, sometimes hrs. It's downright unsafe when traveling at night on unlit roads--lose speedometer, clock, radio, gps, maps, gear reading...just all sudden full blackout.  Recent was on narrow dark road, no turnout, w/trailer... ...GM pushed this complaint beyond warranty -- though complaints were made on day one.  Should have xld sale right then.  Wild excuses by Svc Depts.

I have a 2018 silverado with only 5300 miles on it and my screen went black. I tried all the things on here including calling the infotainment help line but nothing worked, took it to the dealer today and they have to replaces the controls and the screen. Of course they have to order the parts which will take who knows how long, but at least they are fixing it right.

I have a 2018 GMC sierra and for a year the display screen was ok. A few months ago when in reverse it lost the bottom 25% and replaced it with the selection for the grid either off or on. That selection is in basic settings and does not need to take up part of the screen. Now it's all the time and the view is squeezed into a smaller space. The dealer worked on it for an hour, reflashed it no change. In the end they said they "think" it's normal. Are you kidding me?? That's what they say when they want you to just go away.

Anybody else with this screen problem.

My 2015 keeps going black if I tap the trim around the screen it comes back on for about ten minutes, then goes black again

My screen does not go black but it flips out every time its on. Almost like someone is touching the screen even though no one is. It will change stations, move homescreen icons and activate onstar all by itself. Has anyone else had this issue?

Dealer has ordered a new HMI module for my Pick Up, they were not able to reset it with the latest update, I feel better about getting a new one instead of a reset.

So I have a 2015 2500HD 8” touchscreen, has been changing channels for a while on its own, switching from Bluetooth to XM then voice commands without a word being spoken. instrument cluster would change as well I would change it back to speedometer or MPG and it would change when the touchscreen changed. I scoured the web for solutions. Tried the ground posts under the windshield/A pillars. It seemed to glitch less but after a few trips glitches only once in about 2 hours total driving time which was an improvement. However, the touchscreen has always been problematic and unresponsive at times so I decided to get one off eBay out of a wrecked truck and low and behold the touchscreen works with every touch, unlike the last year. I swapped it in my drive way in about 15 min. Didn’t need to have it relearned at the dealership as some have stated and once again just the touchscreen module. So I’m going to drive it for a while and see if this is the fix if not HMI it is. Side note HMIs seem to be GM compatible across different models and are more so year/package specific. Hope this helps anyone that is having this issue.

Been having crazy touchscreen issues in my 2017 1500 LT with just 43k miles.  It has the 8inch mylink setup in it and below are some videos showing the symptoms.  I have not been able to find any commonality in the symptoms or what might be causing them.  The issues happen randomly, sometimes while sitting still or parked, sometimes while driving on a rough surface, or sometimes on a smooth surface.  And if I have started the truck via remote start I can also hear chirps that would typically signify touch input on the radio even without the key in the ignition.

If anyone has had these problems and knows of a solution I, and would assume others, would love to hear it.

So far i have done the following without any positive impact:

Checked the ground points at the bottom of the A pillars.

Reseated all radio cable connections.

Disconnected the battery for about an hour

Replaced the touchscreen with a junkyard unit.

I am unwilling to pay the dealer for troubleshooting and they are unwilling to look at the issue as a "favor" or warranty type thing.  Guess I am going to have to start saving up for an aftermarket head unit.

Video 1 shows the home screen rearranging items on its own.

Video 2 shows the radio randomly opening up the browse feature.

Video 3 shows the DIC randomly changing from the digital speedo to the radio interface option.

xtremespl my 2015 LTZ does exactly what yours does in the first video, although it is not all the time.  I also notice it seems to happen most often when I have a trailer hooked up.  So crazy.  I want to replace the screen but fear that wont solve it.  Have you made any progreess?

Hey y’all,

I have a 2016 Silverado and the screen is resetting about every 20 seconds amd showing the “warning- eyes on road” screen.  I have tried and replaced the fuse, tried unplugging the hmi blue cord, battery terminals, new battery, even took the face off of the radio, and still no such luck as to why it’s constantly going black.  My last resort is a dealer to try and squeeze as much as possible out of me.  I’ve searched numerous forums and videos and whatnot and some of your posts are the closest thing to what I am experiencing.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
