Thoughts on resale value

Since about 1/100 or even more of these trucks are 6.2l what's your thoughts on the resale value of the 6.2 vs the 5.3 in say 5-7 years. I know it's a 2k option but I'm thinking it may help the resale more than that..

I don't think you'll honestly see any more value out of the 6.2. If I was looking for a used truck and I found two with the options I wanted, I wouldnt pay anymore for the 6.2 vs a 5.3. That is just my opinion on the matter though.

You might hold on to half that over a similar 5.3 variant, so figure maybe a 1,000 over the 5.3 with the same options. It won't be a collector and nothing on that would gain value. Nice thought though...

I think it will certainly be more valuable than a 5.3 in 5-7 years. $2,000 more? That's debatable but I think you'll get close to it. You'll just have a smaller market for it. If I was looking for a 2008-9 silverado right now and wanted a 6.2, I'd pay a little more for it since they are harder to find.

Not worth much when typically the entire truck loses 45 to 50% of it original value in 3 years. If Fuel prices hold steady you will probably be OK but if they skyrocket you will take a big hit and have an option that actually detracts from the value instead of adds to it. Just the way the marketplace works. Either way it is a very bad investment to buy a brand new truck. No way to justify or even rationalize it in the real world unless you just have a bunch of disposable income and 50k means very little to you. If you are in that position by golly GIT U ONE and enjoy.
