I noticed a small spot of rust on my front bumper. Its the size of a pen tip. The rail dust on my hood is also rusting. I am not happy about either of these things. Thinking about have it professionally detailed with clay bar then seeing how bad it comes back.

With the bumper to bumper 36k will that cover a new bumper or hood if they are rusting?

Only if hole

Serious? They don't cover it until it has rusted through? By that time warranty would be up!

That term rail dust is used widely ....

I still get it bad in areas, after 5 years !!!!

They told me that and it really is not rail dust. Why does it still show up on my silverbirch metalic truck if it has not been on a rail system for over 5 years.

Tailgate, box sides, hood. and front fenders. I have to hand wax the truck to get rid of it constantly

Also I had the truk coated with their paint protection from dealer.

Scooby it will continue to happen metallic particles get in your vehicle. A once or twice a year claybar will help. Ryan

Your truck is not rusting its particles on the paint Ryan

I recommend clay baring the vehicle yourself. It is really easy. Get a clay bar kit from Autozone, and follow the instructions. Start with a carefully washed clean truck. Then simply spray the liquid wax solution on one spot at a time and run the clay bar over the wetted surface repeatedly with light pressure, taking care not to drop the bar! It works great. I got some paint overspray off from the entire car off using this method. And it leaves absolutely no scratch or swirl marks (unless you get some dirt trapped in the clay bar - they recommend discarding the bar if you drop it.) The Auto zone kit comes with two clay bars and liquid wax solution, which is why I like it.

I noticed ryan in the post , with the clay bar You had the same paint color my truck is. The light color really shows off the spots.

On a nice day, since we haven't had any all winter here in Ontario, I will take your advice with clay bar. Thanks again
