I use a cheap paint gun that came with my Craftsman air compressor I bought 14 years ago. I heat the bottom up with a torch for a while - makes it flow a little better.

Just have to remember to turn my regulator down to 50 psi. First time I used it, I kept wondering why the damn thing kept tipping over whenever I set it down (aluminum base) ... HAHAHA! Got REAL lucky on that one ...

My dad uses a paint sprayer too. I bought a cheap undercoat gun from Harbor Freight, it has the hose to reach into the frame and body panels.

well, I will inspect when I get it, I told them keep the truck till its done right so I hope that avoids the rush job. But in reality to do it right, we all know the man hours required isn't pretty..........I've come to the conclusion my truck has trade in now written all over it..........Ive seen people already bitching about their 2015's rusting too, can't believe GM is letting it keep going this way, and no A/C in the new crew cabs is a killer........Ford won't give me crap for my truck, only Gm will give a decent trade so I may be stuck trying again.....

I'd sell it outright before I got roped into another GM nightmare ....

Looks like a Hemi or Cummins is in your future.

You're right about the 15's. I've seen them brand new on the lots already with rust on the frames. Same with the rear air. I couldn't believe they eliminated it also. Actually everything you said is soooo true. Gm will give me what I want and more for my 2013 in a trade. Every other brand dealer low balls the hell out of my trade. I think I'm just going to keep mine, rusting frame and all. Zeibart said they would rust-proof it for $350 so I might go that route. I really think it will take a LOT of years for the frame to rust through.

Between Ziebart and finding a place that sprays the thick FluidFilm, I would go with the FluidFilm.

I had a Ziebart done once, they spray the panels with wax, but the frame with regular undercoating.

Although it wasn't as good as I wanted, I had this truck sprayed with FluidFilm. The guy did a pretty good job, but i like getting into panels and in the bedsides. The only way to do that is pulling taillights and popping body plugs. The FluidFilm stays sticky, and will creep to an extent like oil. You could also wash it off if necessary.

You'd be surprised. It happens fairly quick up here in the northeast. Lots of trucks up here barely over the 10 year mark, at the end of their lives from corrosion.

Especially since the material has been lightened to make the CAFE numbers better...

update #8

Just picked up my 2011 z71 suburban which the dealer had since Thursday, Jan 22.........you guys aren't gonna believe this sh*t. I couldn't make this up. Upon dropping it off last week, I said over and over I need it back on Tuesday, Jan 27........message from service manager " can we drive it to you on wednesday morning" No I'm leaving at 5Am I need it tonight........service mgr" Ok, its at the Dodge dealership"( 15 miles across town, different owners etc,,)...........me, " you're f****ing joking right ?" srv mgr, " No, they are painting the frame there " So I go to Dodge tonight to get my Chevy, wtf.....The paint is so wet I can smell it parked outside, high gloss black in some sections, flat black in others, overspray on shocks , spare, transfer case, etc.......I only looked under for 30 seconds, couldn't even believe my eyes

I can honestly say my truck looks like it was in a wreck and repaired in Tijuana.................Its going straight to Ford tomorrow to buy one of the few remaining Raptors left. I don't care what they give me for it, its over,,,,,,,,,,,,now Im getting drunk,,,,,,,,buenas noches GM

Wow...I would have been embarrassed to not have the ability to do it in house, if I was the dealer. I would have sent it to a place that specialized in undercoating before I sent it to another garage.

That definitely makes you wonder about brand loyalty anymore...
