Sway bar links

I have a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Z71 with a 2" rough country level kit and 78xxx miles. Started to hear a noise on the driver side and looked under the truck and my sway bar link is snapped. I have two questions...How do you measure the link if I was to go after market and my second question is should I just head down the dealer and get a oem replacement.

When you go to buy them they come in a stock oem length or lifted length that will be the question you will be ask. There only about 10-15 bucks like from summit racing but I don't know if there better then oem. Kinda rare that it snaped. Or you can go to the junk yard and pick one up for a couple bucks.

I wouldn't trust that anything you find in a junk yard would serve you much better than what you already have. After all it's in a junkyard for a reason. The abuse those peticular parts receive just from normal driving would make me want to buy new vs trusting used.
