Opening Headlight without Cutting?

I ordered from TRS in their Accessory section. It's really just the same as used for windshield installation. If you go the Retrofit Source website and look at the tutorials, you'll see there is one for installing butyl into the headlight channel. Hope this helps.

It used to be when it was OCI Butyl. Now that it's RetroRubber, it's most more akin to a superior headlight sealant like the Koito butyl used in Toyota headlights. Easier to get back open should the need arise, and it helps to reduce pinholing.

For the silverado guys out there, How did you get past that chrome trim around your headlght? I cannot get past it without cracking one of the plastic tabs. Once that trim is off, It is smooth sailing from there right?

You need to dremal the plastic rivets and epoxy things back together

At first I thought the glue was gonna be too hard to do it, but it does take a little persuasion and some force to get in there. Extremely happy with the result i think it looks so much better than with the chrome. Also very happy that I didn't have to cut them everything went together super easy and like a glove.

Correct me (anyone ) if im wrong I read on another thread a SLE owner upgrade to the SLT headlights and seem to work. Not sure if he ran to any major issues.

Yes and no. They arent a direct replacement, but there is a board you can buy that will make them work on the sle. I've seen the boards go for anywhere from $50-$120. But, the issue is finding a set of slt headlights that dont cost a left nut as well as your right arm. Best price i saw so far for slt headlights including the piece to make it work on an sle was $1100

Yeah i wish i had the slt headlights on my sle, but can't justify spending over a grand for them. Hopefully ill sack up and black out my housing soon since it looks sweet, but my truck is barely a month old so im hesitant lol

Hey Guys , Just bought a 2015 Sierra All Terrain , and i want to do this Mod to my lights , when you guys open them from the oven do u just need to remove the Amber plate and seal them back up? and whats the processes to seal them back up ? any special glue i need to buy ?
