Just take them out?

Is the solution that easy?

Not exactly Haha, you have to separate the housing, but once apart you can just remove the reflector.. I'm gonna put a switch back led in mine when I do it.

So the "switchback" is the chrome piece behind the bulb?

If you dont have that piece is it just a big opening?

Also if that chrome piece is the "switchback" could you paint it a black or would that defeat the purpose of it?

I'd like to clear my headlights as well as paint all the chrome trim black is why I ask.

No switchbacks are leds that are white when the parking light is on but turn amber when the turn signal is activated

That makes sense. So if you painted the chrome bowl black would that ruin the light out put to the point that it's useless?

useless no but severely diminished? Yes. A black chrome or something similar would look pretty sweet though. Should help with output too

I remember seeing an episode of one of the car restoration shows where they bought some "3D printed" taillight lenses. Someone would have to model them in a computer.
