cost for lease on a 2014 gm truck

Just curious, anybody here lease a new 2014 Silverado/sierra crew cab 1500? If so, what are monthly payments? Just trying to get an idea of what a good deal on one of these leases would be. I am looking for a 36-39 month lease with about 12,000 miles a year on a crew cab 4x4 with 1LT or 2LT possibly

I have a SLE Dbl Cab 4x4 with the value package. My lease is 320 a month, 36 mos sign and drive, super preferred credit. 12k per yr. I had 3500 in rebates, and supplier pricing. I got a hell of a deal, I couldn't buy a used truck for that much per month. Buyout is 25900 at the end of lease, I'll prob buy it.

I'm leasing a 2014 SLT crew cab w/leather, bucket seats, NAV, Bose system, 20", running boards for 48 months 10k/year $420/mo just had a trade for $1,500 no down payment. Sticker was at about ~$44K got it for $40K

last fall for a double cab stickered at 43 got it for 37. 12k miles for 36 months I got 450, that as zero down. I would think you could do much better now. Go to chevys build option on their website and build what you want then there is a lease option it should give you a good idea.

My SLT, leather, Bose, Nav, 20's All Terrain, Double Cab. I lease for $410 a month. 12,000 miles a year. 39 months. Traded in another lease (dealer did some tricky buyout, but I actually made a grand on the trade in) then I put down about $2000 out of my own pocket at signing.

Not bad for a loaded truck.

Leases are good tools to buy, but you have to do the math on them. if your a guy thats in a new vehicle all the time it might not be bad. But do the math, I always thought down payments on something I would never own wasnt a good idea. I think if I put 2 grand down it would have saved me 40 a month. 40 a month more for three years equals 1400 bucks, so long run it was cheaper to not put money down.

I got screwed! I've got a double cab Allstar package. After swapping out the crappy highway tires, installing running boards, and chrome trim package, I'm paying $448/month. 12k miles a year for 39 months, with $500 down.

Crew cab LTZ max tow 6.2. Sticker was just shy of 50k. I get GM employee price (thanks dad) but had an old lease eating about $475. with 1500 out of pocket at signing my payments are 472 for 39mo 10k per yr

For Won_Hunglo and maybe Nards, ...and/or if monthly expenditure isn't an object, then I'd agree. Buy outright whenever possible. However, I've leased my last 2 trucks, because that's how they've fit me into the payment that I know I can handle. Leasing is a tool, and like any tool if you use it properly and understand the benefits and risks, you shouldn't shy away from Leasing.

You also still need to NEGOTIATE to make sure the price per month is in your range and don't let them push you into a larger payment that you can handle.

With that said, 2014 Chevy Silverado 4x4, V-6, 1500 LT, All Star package. 15,000 miles/yr at $350 a month on Lease for 39 months.

If I keep it, I'll pay appx. the same amount per month to buy it outright in the end (Based on my Appx. 23K payoff figure) for the next 5 years as well. If not, I let it go to someone else.

Would I prefer to buy it outright for 60 or 72 months? Yes. Can I handle that payment? No, not at this moment. Have I made sure that I've left myself in a position to positively impact my overall accounts despite the extended (8 years= 39 months plus 60 on a loan) payoff term? Yes I have, and that is what matters. Follow your gut, but use your head.

I leased a double cab that stickered ay 40k, before the price increase and my lease is a 24 month at 15k/yr. I got it the day the double cabs even had a lease program and needless to say I should have waited because I got 0 incentives and had I not put money down my payment would be $560/month. Total cost to me is over 13k for 2 years, buyout being 26k.

Only good thing is A) when I buy it I still have a brand new truck before 16s are even out for a great buyout price.

B) if I buy it I can most likely sell it outright and get some of my money back.

I wish I hadn't done it, I don't want to keep it. They made a huge deal about gm making the residual much better on these trucks, but imo they are still far too expensive.

Im debt free except for my rides, I have to have a new ride every 21/2 years at the most its an addiction Im tight every where except that. I drive less now so I should have leased, with the payments you people are paying for leases I would save money. I keep telling myself this it Im keeping this one, if that ever happens I could always do the buyout.

SilverSilver and Imcrazy... would you both mind saying how much you put down at signing (either down payment or total out of pocket)?

Silver, it seems like you have the same truck I'm getting prices on and I'm also in the market for 15,000 miles per year. Could you share the MSRP of your truck and also the final price you agreed to? As you said, it's important to negotiate the cost of the vehicle as if you were buying it because that's what the lease price is based off of... and while I've leased a bunch of cars in the past, this is my first truck and I don't have any experience with how much the markup usually is. It seems like there's quite a bit of room for movement (anywhere from $5,000 to $8,000 and even more off of sticker). The cars I've leased have had a lot less negotiating room, so I don't want to look too naive and walk out having left money on the table.

And Imcrazy, you said you got supplier pricing on your SLE... how much did that take off in addition to the $3,500 in rebates you had?

Thanks!!

Oh and silver, I just noticed you're in MA/NH. I am too, oddly enough. Mind saying what dealerships you looked at or where you ended up purchasing from? I'd really appreciate it!

Yesterday i was quoted 252 per month on Silverado 4wd allstar edition double cab with 5.3 and trailer tow and bedliner for 252 per month with employee discount and out of pocket 523 bucks.10,000 miles a year for 36 months. My dealer was cool as heck and asked me everything i wanted on the truck color, motor, interior color.Without me signing anything they said they would find the truck i was looking for and do a dealer trade for it and i could come down and drive it and check it out and they would let me know if i could get it cheaper for the june incentives because they wouldn't get the june ones till the 3 of june.I thought that was awesome no dealer has ever done nothing like that to me before and i have leased a lot of cars and trucks over the years.Going to get victory red by the way.lol.

    • That makes sense, and I think you are describing the real product problem. Capturing data is the easy part. If the owner or technician has to manually dig through five minutes of millisecond-level logs, the product has already failed. The device would be at the ECM harness, not at the OBD port, so I agree that data retrieval and event marking need to be thought through carefully. The way I am thinking about the architecture is: The recorder itself should not depend on a phone, app, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or cloud connection to capture the event. It should always keep a local rolling buffer and lock the event locally. A button, phone app, or small cabin device would only act as an event marker. If the driver feels a stumble and presses the button 10–30 seconds later, the pre-buffer has to already contain the useful data. For data retrieval, the practical options would be a sealed service USB lead, Wi-Fi download, or a phone/cabin companion device. I would not expect the owner to remove the ECM-side module or work with raw files directly. The cloud or AI side would be for interpretation, not for capturing the event. The truck may have no connection when the issue happens, so the evidence has to be saved locally first. After that, cloud processing could help decode the data, compare it against baselines, and generate a readable report. For the first version, I would keep the automatic triggers conservative and objective: driver event marker bus-off error passive voltage drop / brownout device reset FIFO or queue overflow a normally periodic message disappearing side-to-side communication mismatch, if the topology supports that For “learning normal,” I agree with your point, but I would not want to overclaim it as automatic root-cause diagnosis at first. A realistic first step would be learned baseline comparison for that specific vehicle and operating condition. For example, a value would only be compared against similar conditions: RPM range load / MAP throttle position gear / vehicle speed coolant and oil temperature battery voltage AFM/DFM state, if decoded and validated Then the report could flag things like: this periodic message disappeared compared with its normal timing this value deviated from this vehicle’s normal range under similar conditions the same abnormal pattern repeated after the same type of event the anomaly occurred together with voltage, oil-pressure, misfire, or communication changes But I would still call that “abnormal pattern detected,” not “replace this part,” unless there is enough validated repair data behind it. So the intended product would not be “here is a huge log.” It would need to be an event package: what triggered the capture how much pre/post data was preserved what changed before and after the event whether the device itself reset, overflowed, or saw a bus error selected graphs around the event raw data only as supporting evidence From your perspective, what would make this kind of report useful instead of just another datalog? For example: What are the top 5 parameters or events you would want highlighted first? Would you trust a learned baseline for that specific vehicle, or would you prefer fixed thresholds? How much false-positive flagging would be acceptable before you stopped looking at the reports? What would a one-page report need to show for an independent shop to take it seriously? For misfire, AFM/DFM, oil pressure, or U-code complaints, what would you want the tool to flag automatically?
