Toyo AT2 Xtreme or Nitto Terra Grapplers?

I did a search and did not find anything that really got it narrowed down to these two so hopefully many of you don't mind if this is a repeat I did not see.

I need to give my tire order finalization to my dealer so they are ready to add these tires to the leveling kit when my new Denali 6.2L comes in. The 275/65/20 Nitto's are in my current order as that was my original deal with them, if I go with the 295/55/20 Toyo's is an added $350. I guess i did not realize there was as big a difference in the two, thought they were close in price. Which would you go with in my current situation? I really want that more agressive look but not sure if I want to throw in that much more extra for some side wall and deep treads. Are the Toyo's that much better? I hear they are on wear.

Also one more thing on the leveling, I wanted to verify what the actual true benefits are of the back 2" block. As of right now they were only doing the front 2 1/2" and not touching the back using the rough county either way. For another $150 they will install the back block from the 1" to the 2". If it is a resounding yes I have to do it for this and this reason, then I will.

Thanks guys for any and all input, need to give them an answer tomorrow since truck is coming in shortly.

IMO I would get the Toyo's, IF they have the XT sidewall. I know some sizes come with them some do not. My local Discount had them out on display side by side and the Toyo w/the XT sidewall looks way more aggressive and tread looks better also.

Both the 295's and the 305's have the XT's, just dont want to push it to the 305's as the 295's should be all I need to fill out the wheel well. I wish the 275/65/20's had the XT but they don't.

Its my opinion but I would go with the 295 Toyo then. I have seen them side by side and I love the Toyo AT2 with the XT.

I have the 295 AT2 on my AT and am very happy with the look and ride.

This is my 5th set of Toyo AT/MT and I've always gotten great wear.

Seems like every truck I see with Terra Grapplers/Mud Grapplers on has them wore out.

Looks like we both have pretty much the same truck, did you use a leveling kit for that size tire? I was a little interested taking it to a 305/55, any rub at all with your's? These were the Xtreme versions on yours right? I have to agree on the wear of the Nitto's.

I vote spend the extra money on the Toyo AT2 Xtremes. If you want an extreme look to your tires you will be disappointed in the Terra Grapplers.

As for the back blocks, pretty simple. If you want rake do it, if you want it level just do the front.

I actually had them install Bilstein leveling shocks on front and the 5100's on the rear.

Slight rub on hard left turn and yes the tires are the Xtremes.

Nittos may run you less coin but you'll be looking for new tires way sooner.

Good luck and post pics once you get your tires.

Ok well guess the 305's would be a no go then, great thanks. Trying to decide now if I stick with the size I originally planned with the 275/65/20 or the 285/95/55/20's. Talked to an off-roading company here and they said the 275's if I was using them on my stock rims which I am. Not sure why, figured both sizes would be ok.

    • We have now!  2027 GMC Sierra  Early look, but I'm a GMC guy and so far I think I like the looks of the Chevy better.
    • HD at the moment, are kinda their own deal.  How LTZ sells on those vs on 1500, there is a difference.   They are merging most of the mid trims on 1500.  LT, RST and LTZ are replaced by one trim, Silverado.  LT and RST are a BIG portion of sales.    Bad naming choice aside, the new Silverado trim will offer the spread of options that those three trims offered.  So expect to see things like the tech package for example, and memory seats.  And LT Trail Boss will now just be "Trail Boss" (formerly LT Trail Boss) but will offer content spread like the new Silverado trim will.  The press photos showed the Trail Boss (formerly LT Trail Boss) has access to Super Cruise now, which on the current truck was High Country only.       Here is the Trail Boss interior.  Memory seats and Super Cruise are present.  All things the LT Trail Boss it replaces, and the RST it was based on didn't get on the current gen.  You had to go to LTZ or ZR2 for memory seats, and High Country for Super Cruise.
    • I installed a Hellwig rear sway bar on my 21 Sierra SLT, it made a huge difference on how the truck handles, no body roll, the trucks much more planted now. Not sure of the suspension differences between the 21 and 26,  if its body roll your having a sway bar will solve it.
    • So a follow up and my fix. I found in online searches the live data to look at on a scan tool to verify the fuel tank pressure sensor was working.  It showed an spec number towards the lower end of the rang, but in spec.  Then while it was running opened the gas cap and the pressure should change.  It didn't change even a tiny bit.  The data for the purge valve said it was open...never changed. So then I measured the voltages on the plug for the fuel pressure sensor and they matched what it should be.  So local car quest parts had the sensor in stock...it was a bit of a pain to remove and an even bigger one to get it to actually go back in.  It helped to unbolt the driveshaft and bungie cord away from the gas tank to give a bit more room to work. So fuel tank pressure sensor in I cleared the code, and started it up.  I went to the scan tool's live data and... Eureka! The pressure number was different and fluctuated a bit.  So took it on a short drive and pressure number varied saw the purge valve go from closed to open and back to closed.  Drove it to and from work for roughly a week plugged in the scan tool no codes.  I took it in to get tested and passed.  In my state's infinite wisdom (oops meant greed), since I pushed the test with the maximum extensions I have to take it back in by Feb '27 to 'get it back up to date', then my next test won't be until Feb '29.
