Cocoa Dune Bedliner?

Have the cocoa dune inside, black exterior. Has anyone ever seen a black truck with a tan bedliner? Wondering what it'd look like if done right.

I can't see a tan bedliner holding up well to any significant use.

 

Based on that, I would be surprised if any companies would think there would be enough market for one to make them...

What about a spray in with the color? Seems most of the companies do color match these days. Maybe one of them will do a tan color for your truck.

I am sure Line-X or whoever can. I think it'd look pretty ugly myself though.

Line-X can color match any color you wish, including your exact truck color paint. It does cost about twice the price for your paint spec.

 

They also have other standard colors besides black, but white and yellow cost a lot more than some of the other colors. I think tan was an option?

I think it would be ugly, and your going to put tan on something that gets dirty, dinged, scratched, etc. doesnt sound smart

I don't think it would look ugly at all, it isn't going over the rail and looks the same as seeing the dash from outside the truck. Black and tan go together. My dad had a two tone sierra, black top and silver bottom and he had a topper painted silver. Looked a little different at first but got plenty of compliments on it and started seeing similar combinations of other colors around. White with tan bottom/topper, blue and green top with tan bottom and topper and a few other combos (mostly dark top and lighter bottom and topper color). It would give a nice contrast to the all black look and subtle enough where you only see it at certain times.

 

With that, it would look dirty with any kind of use. Scuff marks from black rubber, dirty water getting baked in or other just dirty items in there like rust colored stuff.

 

If you don't use the bed really at all then I would go for it, but mine would look like crap after a year of yard work and hauling.

Thanks all for the feedback. I found some king ranch f150s that actually have it.

 

I agree Tyler, I think if done right it would look nice. I use it almost daily so there would be some wear but wouldnt bother me.

 

Ill post a pic if I end up pulling the trigger.

If you want tan, I'd consider the tan carpeted bed rugs way before I considered a Line X type of spray in liner. But, I'm not a fan of spray in liners anyway in any color. To me even black looks like crap after 6 months.

 

We bought 2 brand new company trucks several years ago that were white F-350's and the project manager at the time wanted them Line X'd, in white. They looked horrible after about 3 weeks and yellowed in places. My buddy had his boat trailer done in red Line X with a glossifier. It looked great when it was done, but if you didn't wash it after each and every trip and I mean every inch of the trailer and cross braces, it looked dirty all the time. Road grime was a bi$ch. Another guy here at work had the whole inside of his Jeep color matched silver Line X and it looks dirty all the time too. And it's never been off road and sits in his garage most of the time.

Only one I could find. Tried to blow it up, but it got grainy. Looks black anyways.

 

 

It works well because there is the same color on the exterior to tie it in. I guess if you had your emblems sprayed at the same time it could tie it together. It actually doesn't look too bad.

I had a black El Camino back in the day. Before poly spray lining was available, we had Zolatone paint that had speckles and texture. I used a light gray Zolatone in the bed and it looked great.

 

My preference for a bed color on a black truck would lean toward a gray or black.

I went to my local Line-X dealer wanting color matched and he informed me of how it works. They color match some in the spray on, but the final actual color match is a paint like coating that goes on top. This will scratch easy if you use it at all like a truck. Also, the pigment added to the spray in liner to get it close the color reduces the UV protection in the black base. I believe the lighter the color the less UV protection. In the end you pay more the get something you can't use as much and won't look great that long. I have no clue how the rug holds up to real use. I have installed them before, but never on my truck.
