now I am super confused

So I went through a deal with GM not to long ago that ended in them buying back the first '14 LTZ I had purchased, and they put me in another '14 LTZ that was Identical with the exception of it had the Max trailer package, and NO rear slider. Now a little back story is that I only got the LTZ specifically for the rear slider, and the projector lights, and when I purchased it the double cab LTZ was $40,225 sticker, and the LT all-star edition which had everything else I wanted except the rear slider was 40,100. So to get the bump up to the heated and cooled leather I took the LTZ. Well when GM bought the truck back they had made the decision to no longer offer the rear-slider, and instead give the 250$ credit and I was told nothing would change by waiting and ordering or any other solution because the 14's would no longer be available with the rear slider except on the Denali and High Country models. That was 3 months ago today. Now fast forward to today. My dad ordered the EXACT same truck as what I have to the T, he ordered it the same time I bought my truck. At the time there was supposedly constraints on the rear-slider, the trailer brake controller, the max tow package, and the 5.3. The truck came with every option.....EVEN the SLIDER. I'm pretty angry because my favorite feature of the truck was the slider and I settled because the GM rep told me that I would not be able to get it again in a '14 LTZ. sorry for the long read, I just needed to vent a little.

They stopped offering the slider for a while because of supplier problems. Just bad timing I guess.

That really stinks that you lost the option you liked the most, but in perspective you got bumped up to the max tow package. That's got to count for something right?

It's definetly nice, because that's what my 6.2 was, and honestly with the 3.73 gears its not very far off from my '11 6.2 stock for stock. And I knew they had stopped offering them, My point was that GM had told me it wasnt worth ordering because you couldnt get the slider on any '14, that if I wanted it I would have to wait for the '15, and then my dads truck came in with it. Like I said, I just needed to vent a little. I'll just have to get it on the next truck lol. The plus side is, I guess that the max tow and rear slider aren't on constraint anymore lol

i trust gm dealers and salesmen about as much as i trust cell phone salesmen. they just speak about stuff they dont really know trying to get you to buy right then.

Unfortunately there was a lot of confusion around the time GM decided to not offer them. Some said they were available some said not. It sounds like the salesmen you talked to may have had the wrong info at that time.

I wanted slider but after it becoming not available I wasn't deterred from buying....I wanted this truck! Now, after the fact I think the sliders are kinda dinky as it is. Why can't GM make the whole damn window roll down like some others?? Still wouldn't have deterred me though.

Rear slider was a option that I NEEDed to have and was going to be a sticking point for me personally, Im a carpenter and dont plan on using my half ton for work yet but quick runs to lumber yard for a long board etc.. rear window when you dont have a ladder rack works great. I have ladder racks on my other company trucks for larger orders. Originally I was going to order around Christmas and They were offering a deletion credit, I waited to order in late feb- early march when they were just starting to offer them again. My dealer told me they discontinued them for awhile due to a design flaw on the pully mechanism, the first batch they put in the trucks kept getting stuck. Then came the constraints on alot of parts. I Totally agree with Sooper dave, they need to be bigger or roll fully down

This is just me but I haven't really missed the rear slider. I thought I would as my last truck had one. However I hope it comes back for those that need, want or desire it.
